He’s better than both, we need a lot more quality in the middle, he would be ideal

Just guesswork from an attention seeker I'd say, but would be excellent if true.

That's a very interesting link. He'd have some/limited knowledge of working for Alex Neil which might be an attraction. If true, it would also suggest that we're very ambitious as he'd cost a reasonable fee, he'll be one of the most in demand keepers from Championship clubs and he would be coming to replace Patterson.

Hourihane is an excellent midfielder and has the kind of experience we need at this level. He'd be a brilliant signing, but it would mean we'd be throwing big wages around. A fine balance between ambition and overextending. I'd love him here personally.

Told Sunderland are leading race for goalkeeper Dan Iversen. Loads of interest from the Championship but Sunderland ready to pay big, want to push on now. Preston want him back but could be priced out on wages, good goalkeeper expected him in the Leicester squad.

Freelance Talksport Journo, not sure what to make of that, but the details he is specifying are exactly what we have been doing under Speakman

Sounds like he would be no1 if he came in. Wonder what they would do with Patto. Not sure he'd be too happy back on the bench after doing well last season.

Patto needs a loan I think. I’m all for sentiment but he’s only had 20 games or so with us as number one hasn’t he? I think a lot of people are wanting him to continue as number one in the championship out of the romance rather than logic.

He’s a clanger away from becoming a scapegoat, unfortunately. That’s not me criticising our fans, just being realistic

I wouldn't disagree with any of that tbh. A good 40+ game loan in L1 or 2 would be good. He has time on his side being a keeper, they don't usually come into their own until late 20s. That does mean we will need 2 keepers though. This Iverson and Ruddy maybe?

    aye

assuming this is true (and I have a lot of salt being pinched), then signing a good young keeper like this with a sell on fee, loaning Patto out for a couple of seasons, then selling this Iversen for a big profit (despite the sell on fee), when hopefully Patto is able to come straight in as number one. That would be good succession planning for me.

Hopefully, there is at least some validity to recent rumors whether we sign these alleged targets or not, indicating that we will build from the back.

That’s exactly what he needs for his development mate to learn from a better player.
