Imagine the EFL offices now, bearing in mind this one passed their tests! Chatting to Derby fans now and they are raging. The administrators are getting hammered.

the problem now, as i see it, if they turn to ashley i expect the whole DD and EFL check will have to happen meaning derby could start the season still not knowing...i honestly do not know the ins and outs of such things but when a club is bordering on going under, surely there could be something in place to keep them at least ticking over until new owners are sorted.

Rooney paid the players wagers last month apparently so they must be very very close to going under. The EFL need to look at themselves here imo.

If that's true hats off to Rooney. He clearly loves football like and think he will be a good manager.

    Terrible carry on this.

I think the administrator is getting a bit of a free pass here though. They appear not up to the job. Kirchner has lingered around like an unpleasant smell for months now and Quantuma appear stunned to find they are potless.

Meanwhile they publicly shun Ashley, and flirt with Appleyard who has a poor history and no obvious cash.

It genuinely wouldn't surprise me that the reason they don't realy want Ashley is because of all the chew he had with the Mags fans.

The Mags were upset that he kept them sustainable and would never in a million years ran them in such a way that they found themselves in the position Derby find themselves in.

Wasn't long ago there was a football club going out of existence, Bury was it?, and while all that was going on they were still complaining about how bad they had it with Ashley in the Premier league on solid financial footing all cause they were being outspent by teams they perceived as below them!

Now I know we all know this as we probably pay a bit more attention to the full picture where then lot are concerned than the ordinary fan in rest of the country, there will be plenty who believe the bad man Ashley myth they pushed for years! But surely these people should only care about getting someone in who would come in sort and sort the club out to be on an even footing financially. That is Ashley, there is a reason he has bought out and saved numerous businesses over the last few years, it's what he does and he even has football club ownership experience. He should be a no brained if they can get him to take it on!

I worked on the fringes of this industry and all of the contracts are on a time spent basis - it is therefore not really in the administrators best interests to bring these matters to a speedy conclusion but instead to travel around the houses several times supposedly exploring all options in great depth without ever coming to a solid conclusion. As I understand it Quantuma have to date rattled up over £2m in fees on this and as they now control the purse strings it is pretty likely that all of their bills have been paid.

Agreed. It pisses the Mags off I know when they think they're being funny mentioning leauge one and my answer is "well, if we had an owner like Ashley we'd never have been in this state".

Not the first time he's done it either. At one point last season he paid the players and staff wages, literally right down to the tea lady. Fair play to him and shows he truly is a top individual.

I like him much more since he stopped playing tbf. I thought he was a right bellend when he was a player but seems to come across a lot better now imo. If he stays with them in LAW then fair play again. He will get pelters from most of the fans down there though, we have just been through all of that crap. They will wind him up something wrotten.
