It doesn't heed to. They are not in it to make money, or because they like football, or because they like the people up here. They are in it to try and put a civilised gloss on the barbarity regularly displayed by the medieval state of Saudi Arabia.
i agree with all that , but there are better investments in football for £300m than wasting it on the scum.
I don't think we'll ever fully know what happened with FPP and if there was ever a legitimate takeover proposal, but their loan to us was the essentially the forerunner to MSD Capital doing the same. Of the 3 clubs they loaned money to, Derby are f*cked, Burnley are on there way to being f*cked and Southampton pay £7m interest a year on a loan tied to their stadium - probably not f*cked but relegation would result in a firesale. It seems like taking money from these men is an act of pure desperation and doesn't end well. We got lucky that KLD came to the rescue.
Money means nothing to them. They have probed around at other clubs in the past, including Man Utd. That lot, and Ashley were desperate to have them, others were not.
Yet so called Sunderland supporters, on social media, keep saying SAFC is an embarrassment and a joke ... ... with no debts, good stadium, Championship football and a massive support. So what if we have some irritating minor shareholders with no say in the club. Derby could end up ground sharing with Coventry the way they're going ... ... do they have any players we should be grabbing.
Mike Ashley has to be the man to save them, unless Donald & Methven want their shares bought out now, so they can 'save' Derby/
Not sure Appleby has the money, at least that is the rumour round here. Ashley seems the only choice and to be fair derby fans I know have wanted him for a long time. Their problem now is getting a competitive squad together because they are miles off as it stands.
