Good Morning. It's Friday 10th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds set to bid on Bayern star Elland Road journalist Phil Hay has revealed that, having completed the signing of Rasmus Kristensen, Leeds have quickly turned their attention to German Giants Bayern Munich, in their quest to beef up their midfield. Hay is suggesting that 25yo defensive midfielder Marc Roca will be Leeds next signing. The former Spanish U21 International joined the Bundesliga Champions from Espanyol i the Summer of 2020, penning a lucrative five-year deal. Two years on, Roca has only 15 appearances under his belt, suggesting that he could be surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena. Orta first identified his target back in January, and has been monitoring his progress since. It is understood that a bid of £10m would be enough to secure this signature During the article, penned on the Athletic website yesterday afternoon, Hay insinuated whilst Roca would add competition for places, and add much needed support to Kalvin Phillips, he would not be a first team regular. Casilla, a 2019 capture from Real Madrid, has had a turbulent time at Elland Road, and was expected to have had his final year's salary paid for in advance, so he could be removed from the books at LS11. This will anger a lot of Leeds fans who have not forgiven the Spaniard for allegedly using racist language towards Jonathan Leko during a league match between the Whites, and Charlton Athletic in September 2019. “Kiko Casilla will return to Leeds United following the expiry of his loan deal at La Liga side Elche,” “It was believed that Elche had the option to turn Casilla’s loan deal into a permanent transfer, however a source close to the player has told LUFCFANZONE that the 35-year-old will be returning to Elland Road and that there is a ‘90% chance that Kiko will be at Leeds next season to help add his experience to the group’.” please log in to view this image Leeds locked in three-way tie for Hammers ace Leeds are locked in a three-way tug of war for want away teenage sensation Sonny Perkins. The 18yo attacking midfielder has fallen out with Senior Management at the London Stadium, and has refused to sign a new contract. Perkins will be a free agent next month, and with Aston Villa and Spurs sniffing around, Leeds will have to act quickly, if they want the England U18 star. His versatility and 'hold up play' was even praised by West Ham Captain Mark Noble, saying "He started in the No10 role and he’s moved up to the centre-forward role for the U23s, and scored a lot of goals" please log in to view this image
Marsch likes to play 2 pivots so you’d imagine there is room for roca whether kp stays or goes. Though maybe in part depends on what role he has planned for aaronson
Morning all… Usually we’re linked with 2-3 players who we never get and then we’re thrown a curveball snapping up a player that we were never previously linked to. This time around the strongest two rumours have both joined, if the pattern is going to continue to be followed it seems Minamino would be next although Roca is slowly gathering pace but I feel it’s all from the same originating source
Good Morning to Matt Doc WJ Rik etc from a sunny if cool Bardsey We might as well use KIKO as an understudy because it would mean paying him offand getting someone else so its the best of two evils Roca I hope he can do a jobr have we wasted another 10m Sonny Perkins seems to tick many boxesand would be a good acquistion
Casilla only being kept as no one will have him. Completely useless and hope Meslier can stay fit for the season. Wasn’t good enough for championship so sure as hell of no use in pl
Roca would play alongside Phillips in CDM as Marsch likes two deeper roles in CM. Aaronson is more of a CAM than a CM so is more for the Rodrigo position I’d imagine. Kiko would be okay as a number 2 but I’d prefer someone with better PL experience and probably best for both parties if we parted ways with everything that’s happened with him otherwise it could just be toxic having him around. In a money sense it makes sense to keep Kiko as no.2. Sonny will be a good purchase as Greenwood/Gelhardt now need backfilling as they’ll both be part of the first team squad this coming season.
Kiko is a likeable guy apparently. And an expert at dealing with adversity after making mistakes. Sadly his solution of just making more mistakes may not fit the remit, but that apart you can’t fault his experience.
Lots of stories about Roca walling Nagelsman up and asking why he has been ostracised. Bayern fans love the guy and his performances in December and January should have meant starting him, but obviously a problem with the manager. Sounds like Christianson and Klich to me? Raj Chohan @rajsinghchohan Marc Roca to Leeds. I like it a lot. He impressed me in the run of games he got in December/January when Kimmich & Goretzka were injured. Good defensive positioning & passing range. He’s the best Kalvin Philips replacement as a 6 that they could get.Or even to play with Phillips.
Bielsa. Kiko is very good with the other keepers. He was also made captain on the odd occasion under Bielsa due to his leadership and standing within the dressing room. Sounds like a really good lad. He's just **** in goal.
Morning all I can see Roca being an understudy to Phillips and possibly Tyler Adams if we sign him. That's if we're playing to CDMs on the. One year of Kiko left. Fine but let him go after that. Not bothered to comment about the kid from West Ham
Sometimes a players contribution in the dressing is a big part of what they contribute to the team. N Ireland manager brought Dallas over to their games for his off field influence
