Come Dancing in the last at Fontwell for the Signy stable with Sheehan onboard, 11/4 best price available at the time of writing.

Godolphin will probably win the 1410 6.5f 2yo race at Newbury but the well-bred Kyeema, a gelding by Siyouni and half-brother to Phoenix of Spain, may be worth some EW interest.

Mysterious Night, 4/9fav, won as expected but Kyeema finished a promising 3rd at 16-1. Marquand did not resort to the whip, though he did give the gelding an energetic hands and heels ride.

Went to Newbury today and bumped into a poster on here and one ex poster. Not been to the course for a good while (5 or more years), and it reminded me how massive some of our racecourses are. The place is built for big crowds!

They had a student raceday again, and unlike Chepstow in October, this one seemed sensibly placed, not overpacked and lots seemed to be enjoying the racing and not just the music and alcohol. They also had the kids school outings and folk measuring the parade ring as part of their education!! I hope they taught them about decimal and fractional odds and the importance of them to make your % work.

Not sure I will be returning to Newbury for the flat any time soon, but again it showed me why I really don't like a summers day out racing unless its Stratford or the like!!

Someone wake me up when Chepstow starts again with its student raceday in October.

I take it you won’t be in the Royal Enclosure next week then?

Have you ever been to Chester? Lovely little course

I’d rather cut off my feet than go to Chester or Royal Ascot. The former apparently has gone massively downhill in recent years and my hatred of Ascot in general must be well known on here.
