What the hell is a military Cessna when it's at home? Are you saying that this Ruskie stealth fighter is in a combative mode or is it on another type of mission like Rudolph Hess in WW2? Has there not been other interceptors gone up to follow this mission and what do you think is it's purpose? Could it be a possible defection to the West and the semi-neutral Switzerland is a safe landing spot? Is this the possible action that could break something open?
I said those Brits over there would not be treated kindly. They may not be actual ‘mercenaries’ exactly but when someone has been shooting at you and killing your comrades and they are a different nationality from your enemy I’m afraid there’s little mercy available. I hope for their sake they get part of a prisoner-swap.
Their execution would be a war crime but I don't think Putin gives a damn about humanity, including his own people. The only way out of this mess is in the hands of the wrong man and it will take his removal by means unknown to have any chance of peace. We, or the Russian people, have to eliminate him by whatever method fits the bill and if it has to be done by us then it will all get very messy but necessary. All the time that this situation continues others are sharpening their swords behind our backs to bring their version of mayhem to the world. What on earth is wrong with these people that they want to deliberately destroy the only place in the universe that supports the life we love? Is greed and the desire for power and control worth risking life itself when it's a fact of life that our collective times on this planet are limited by our body's ability to survive the ages? Why is hatred so prevalent and the acceptance of something different so difficult to achieve when there are far more issues that urgently need the world's attention? The solution to all the planet's problems can be solved by co-operation rather than confrontation but for some stupid reason most seem to choose the latter path.

the captors are the militia that is fighting alongside /in place of Russian soldiers.. it is a separitist army who weeks after the invasion set up their own court as they were losing out to The Ukranian AZOZ battalion, before Russia came in with their war of attrition against other parts of Ukraine. They set up the death penalty within hours!!!! ... I assume to stop so called "ficticious " mercenaries fighting them. Russia is likely to step in ..hopefully .. to bring them in line, although previous history states they use other people todo their dirtiest deeds ... Chetniya EG: Prisoner swaps could also be the answer but I suspect the perpetrators of the sentence are marked cards!
oooooooops got called away and didnt finish posting follow up which I did a moment ago. The plane landed at the airport is the assumption as before landing switched off transponder! In general the layman thinks of Cessna's as a private small plane 1 -2 or more seater! in fact there are a lot show up and some quite large and purpose is varied... transporting people/ info gathering / maybe even delivering spare parts / or S&D stuff..... eg .... Cessna UC -35A The thing about it is it never went above 150 mph stayed at 2000ft save ground undulations and a couple times slighty changed course to avoid higher ground ... no other military planes showed transponders for at least a 100 mile wide corridor at times greater than that by maybe another 100 or so. Commercial airlines on the path it took were very dense but all at 20,000 or more feet AND AROUND THE AREA of landing quite sparse!
Nothing in the news over here but perhaps that is a wise move to deflect attention from whatever has happened. Let's face it we need some kind of positive break to attempt an end to this senseless nonsense being perpetrated by Russia and we can only hope common sense prevails soon. Was there any other intervention by countries that this stealth fighter crossed on it's way to Switzerland or was that kept quiet as well to avoid any confrontation?

"... then its flightpath headed SW dead straight with no deviation and no "apparent escort" Never climbed above about 2800 ft . It would make some sense if being escorted? to fly at steady speed /height ..although extra speed may have been a need for extra height, ,??? not many in production only about 6?? I have this feeling that Putin is already lining up his next victims and they are probably the weaker ex-soviet republics in Asia because they will pose very little resistance. Turkmenistan has already signed a document that agrees greater cooperation with Russia that will develop more in the future and I think he will threaten the other weaker republics in the same area because they are off the radar for protection from either the EU or NATO. Once he has roped in other republics he will set his sights on the Baltic where there is a very large ethnic Russian population in each country particularly in Riga. All of the Baltic states have about 30% Russian populations and he will use the dissenters there to start civil unrest before he will liberate them from western tyranny. He is creating himself as Peter the Great as a guise to subject as many as possible to the Soviet era thuggery and he needs to be stopped asap before we are thrusted headlong into a nuclear world war. Azerbaijan would be a prime target as I believe they still supply a lot of oil to Europe and Putin will want to stop that as early as he can. It's a very troubled world we are facing and I can't see common sense anywhere on the horizon.

What happens when Ukraine becomes part of the EU ? In a normal world their gross annual product and infra structure is as good if not better than some other EU COUNTRIES .... I have been off the radar for a couple of days so a little out of touch. Is Ukraine actually applying for membership of the EU and if they are could they be fast tracked before Russia tries to make more inroads westward? I wonder what the master plan will be if push comes to shove and which countries will bail out at the last minute? As far as any country that are using the sad situation to benefit they should be cut off from any support from EU and other NATO allies immediately and any business dealings should be cancelled. Do we have any presence in the Black Sea that could open up shipping lanes to support whatever exports Ukraine needs to ship to bolster their bank balance to buy weaponry? What military presence is there on Russia's borders in the event of an escalation of the fighting because frankly I believe that western troops would blow away any threat from Putin's thugs relatively easily? St Petersburg, due to it's somewhat isolated location, could be cut off from Moscow and also divert attention on a second front which might aid in the possible defence of the Baltic states. As an afterthought I think Putin has lost his original plot somewhat in the same way Hitler did in WW2 and it became his undoing and so we have to hope the same scenario will play out this time.

Why John? I couldn't help but notice that just about every ship in the Sea of Azov is Russian and more than capable of carrying grain products or minerals. I have noticed that most of the passenger planes flying over Russian air space are Chinese and Turkish so they can be counted out as allies in defeating Putin the Puke. Did you read that supposedly someone has tried to analyze Putin's poop to determine his health and so now he takes it home with him from places he visits. Sounded a bit weird to me.

First time today a a friendly spy plane flew back and forth across the Black sea to Turkey / Georgia coastal limit from Romania/ Bulgaria will have mapped every ship in its radar etc from about 40,000 foot. Russia does not own either the Sea of Azov or the Black Sea so are we going to sit by and let them control international waters because if we do we may as well all get Russian passports. I just hope the resolve to put this bastard in an early grave hasn't waned as we could end up in a protracted European war with the Chinese possibly piling on Taiwan as well to essentially create a true world war. Thank goodness I am nearly 80 and won't have to live with the awful consequences of allowing this to happen. Doesn't anyone read history anymore to see where this may lead the world? It does beg the question as to what they are filling doesn't it? My version of flight radar is not showing much of any activity and it has been that way for a couple of weeks so perhaps I need to upgrade the programme. I have the basic version so I shouldn't expect much I suppose but I do try to follow the action very closely every day to see that we are keeping up the pressure. We are flying back to the island today after visiting family in Alberta and hope our flight is not delayed due to the terrible storms they have had in Calgary for the last 24 hours. Our flight is with Westjet on a Dash 8 turbo prop and takes 1 hour 25 minutes. Talk later tomorrow.
