Excuse me if this is 1990s-born ignorance but has there been an instance of a player finishing one season in a Pompey shirt and then starting the very next in a Saints shirt before?
Had to check because I couldn't remember who 'Arry brought with him. Ricardo Fuller joined from Pompey summer of 2005, with Nigel Quashie joining in the January window that year.
Initially thought this was a risk as we could well have McCarthy as no1 if this doesnt work out. Upon seeing this, i can confirm I've changed my mind. We have signed some sort of Banks/Schmeichel hybrid.
Yet another move where we're making it difficult to play as Saints on FM, though. If we keep signing players on their wonderkids lists, what exactly are those managing Saints meant to do?
This is would be a great signing .. if we were also signing another senior. As it is, him & Mccarthy as our 2 keepers is a bit risky imo. What if Bazunu ends up like Gunn and we are forced to rely on Mccarthy again?
I wonder what the initial outlay is since the 10m is with add ons included Also I wonder if the buyback is standard practice now or of any significance. City have one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he is 28. He should be their number one for 7 years unless Madrid decide they want him. So them using a buy back doesn’t seem likely unless he becomes so so good that they think they can trade him on at a significant profit If that happens then this would have been a good deal Also I see that Saintsweb is full on misery guts over this. It is slightly more balanced here. But gosh reading it you would think Alex McCarty only has one arm or something
One of my son`s pals is the skates captain, and he reckons Bazanu is going straight to the top. With Saints I hope.
City rated Gunn too once upon a time. I just feel its a position we shouldn't be taking a major risk in. With Tino, at least we had KWP if Tino wasn't up to scratch. If Bazunu isn't up to scratch, we're back to McCarthy. L1 to PL is a huge jump for anyone, let alone a young keeper.
