2 signings 2 full Internationals, not a bad start. In fact the only signings in the last couple of years which are not full Internationals are Harrison and Firpo, which makes it doubly hard to understand last seasons failure….. unless you do believe massive injuries was the cause
Jason Knight from Derby very impressive for ireland in early stages of this game with Ukraine. Available for approx 4m might be worth a look. Only 21 and being linked with everton
Watched the Austria v Denmark up to the 70 minutes mark as I had to be up early on Tuesday morning. Kristensen played a very attacking role in the first-half hogging the right flank as Raphinha does, second-half he played a much deeper role. Gets forward a lot, looking for an overlap. Strong & seems to be quick, especially when his team had to defend, Chases back & stays with his marker defensively. I didn't see enough of his defensive qualities to make an opinion, even though he always seems to be in the correct position at the back. Plenty of neat & tidy short passes. Made two crosses into the box, one assisting Denmark's first goal in the first-half. I would rate his performance 7/10.
Can't see the opposition knocking this big fella off the ball as was the case with some of or defenders last season
That's the main reason I'm delighted with this signing as we definitely need a bit more steel. We do plenty of fouling but I'm talking more about being strong and difficult to outmuscle
I'm hesitant to crow too loudly but I've seen him play now and I am very impressed. He's a big strong quick lad who seems to know what he is doing. Good engine on him too. Looks promising. Premier league is another level though. Hopefully he settles in well.
PL is another level but he's been doing it in the CL and at international level, which must be a positive
Bigger & appears stronger than the majority of our soft squad, certainly makes our matchstick centre-backs look like weaklings.
