How much will Diarby go for? That would be a bitbof a spaff fest if so, but Sarr is more likely. I wouls be happy with Sarr btw, he's underrated and was a great player in a **** team.
I think we will surprise a few next season - Ekitike, Targett, a CB (Botman or Ake) and a RW (Diaby or Sarr) will do for me and with a full preseason under Howe we'll be in a great position.
Diaby, Targett, Botman, Ekitie, Paqueta would represent a really top window I reckon. Big outlay involved though so might be a bit too much. These seem the strongest links. Dubravka, Trippier, Targett, Schar, Botman, Joelinton, Bruno, Paqueta, Diaby, ASM, Wilson Darlow, Krafth, Dummett, Lascelles, Burn, Longstaff, Willock, Shelvey, Fraser, Almiron, Ekitie Wood, Manquillo, Woodman to fill the other three spots. You could add Anderson to the ranks. Sell/loan Fernandez, Clark, Hayden, Murphy, Gayle, Hendrick, Lewis, Richie, M Longstaff, We look a lot better than previous with that kind of work. Actually have some options in the 25. Wouldn't see us suddenly jump into the top 6 or anything daft, but we shouldn't be looking at relegation.
If Paqueta and nunoz are gonna cost around 50m to sign I'd rather not sign. I wouldn't want Paqueta. He's a CM, and we don't need one of them as a priority. We now have a LB, We need a striker, 1 or 2 CB's, and maybe a winger. In order - CB Striker Winger.
A striker is top of the priority list for me like, we can’t rely on Wilson not getting injured and I certainly wouldn’t want to be relying on Wood single-handedly in his absence. We have reasonable options/coverage currently in the other two areas unless some are shipped out of course. Don’t think Ekitike is the answer to our striker problem, certainly not in the short term. I think we will bring in 3-4 players as it stands anyways covering those 3 positions + GK so I think we’ll be fine. Starting 11 is one thing and we probably only need 1-2 infinitely better additions there this summer, my main priority would be making sure we have better quality options to pick our 5 subs from on the bench next season!
If we have a limited budget, we shouldn't be spending £50m on one player, especially if that position is not a priority. A LB, CB and striker were far more urgent. We don't need another CM as a priority. We could just sign a decent covering CM.
I'd love to have whatever you're puffing on mate, but if you get the chance to sign brasils no10 when he's 24 you sign him immediately
Not if he's going to cost the majority of our transfer budget than we need for other more critical positions in the team lol. Another CM/CAM is not our priority.
A striker has got to be our top target. That's where we're weakest, especially considering likely future injuries.
