Good Morning. It's Tuesday 7th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Shock Exit could be on the cards for Harrison

Multiple media sources are claiming that Jack Harrison may be tempted to fly the coup this Summer, with West Ham leading the race to sign the former Citeh ace. Harrison, 24, came in for a lot of criticism for inconsistent performances last season, though it was later revealed he was playing whilst injured, as there was inadequate cover for him.

Only Meslier, Dallas and Raphinha had more game time than Harrison last season (2832 mins), and with a 'Whoscored' rating of 6.76, was Leeds second-best player behind Raphinha from all competitions. More importantly, he contributed 10 goals last season, only Raphinha (11) scored more, though four of those were penalties.

Should Leeds try and pull out all the stops to keep Harrison at Elland Road, or would you be tempted to sell by an offer of between £25m - £30m?

Leeds set to unveil new Assistant Manager

Chris Armas is set to be announced as Jesse Marsch's number two this Summer. The role is currently occupied by Franz Schiemer, but the lure of an Assistant Manager's role with the Austrian National team seems too good to turn down. Schiemer remains on good terms with Leeds, so much so that he has agreed to work for Leeds United in a different capacity in the future.

Armas is a former USA International midfielder with 66 caps. He has 14 years of Management on his CV, most notably, he was the Assistant Coach to Ralf Rangnick at Manchester Utd. He also spent five years at the New York Red Bulls, working under Marsch, until he was transferred over to their sister company RB Salzburg.

According to Phil Hay:- "Jesse Marsch's backroom team will see changes this summer. Countryman Chris Armas, who was No 2 to Ralf Rangnick at Manchester United, is set to come in as Marsch’s new assistant after having that role under him at New York Red Bulls in MLS. It’s not certain yet what that means for Marsch’s current assistant, Frankie Schiemer, but there is going to be a reshuffle of sorts."

Leeds to stay at Thorp Arch

During his latest mail bag, Elland Road journalist Phil Hay gave his opinions on Thorp Arch and rebuffed suggestions that the club would be moving to a new training ground in the City-centre. Thorp Arch is currently owned by Property Developer (and Tory Councillor for Wakefield) Anthony Calvert.

According to Hay, Radrizzani spent a small fortune remodernising the training ground to Bielsa's specifications, and as such, it wouldn't make sense to up and leave any time soon. Leeds current lease runs until 2027.

"I see Leeds being at Thorp Arch for the time being. The plans for a new city-centre training ground haven’t come to anything and under Marcelo Bielsa, the club spent plenty of money improving Thorp Arch."

"The property is still in the hands of a private landlord and the lease runs until the latter stages of this decade but the thing to remember with Thorp Arch is that turning it into something else — ie, housing — won’t be easy. So perhaps there’s an agreement to be reached about extending Leeds’ occupancy of it, assuming that is necessary."

No indication a buy-out is imminent

There are no imminent plans for the 49ers Enterprises to take full control of the reigns at Elland Road, according to Leeds Utd journalist Phil Hay. The NFL franchise have a 44% investment in the West Yorkshire club, and according to documentation leaked by Hay late last year, will take full control of the club before January 2024. At the time (last December), this caused a massive rift between the former Chief Football Writer for the YEP, and Radrizzani who tried to say that the situation had been misrepresented.

Hay also revealed that any plans for redevelopment were still on the back burner, as 'money has to be in place before Leeds can proceed and the project won't be cheap'.

"As we know, the NFL franchise (49ers) have an option to acquire control of Leeds but the club have just had a very close brush with relegation and it’s been a while since anything was said about additional uptakes of equity."

"The 49ers are still very much in the picture — officials from 49ers Enterprises were at the Brighton game in May — but we’ve had no indication a buy-out is imminent. As for the stadium, those plans are still on the table but the bottom line with any redevelopment project is funding. The money has to be in place before Leeds can proceed and the project won’t be cheap."

Unless it's silly money, Harrison has to stay.

That goes for all our better performers including Raphinha and Phillips.

Although if the 49ers don't take control I'd expect one big hitter to leave in order to balance the books.

    Morning all

Harrison isn't a shock exit. Everybody and their dog has been chasing him since we secured survival.

People harping on about a buy out. Supposedly it's meant to happen this summer according to everybody in the media. I'll believe the take over when I actually see it happening.

Franz Scheimer has fooked off to join Ralf as his assistant in the Austrian job. How very incestious. Red Bull operation as Scheimer is an Austrian so simple to switch from Leeds and that opens the way for the other yank to join Marsch and Toe Shack. According to many media outlets Fergy had a pop at Ralfs No2 when he told Fergy his CV. Fergy laughed and said you need more than that here son…

Been reading up on Chris Armas and he sounds like a proper loser. His training regimes apparently leave a lot to be desired and his track record is dire. The players won’t respect him.

    A disaster waiting to happen.

A mate of Marsch’s and a fellow American is all that qualifies him for such a high profile post.

I wouldn't blame Harrison from moving on after the season we just had. The wheels came off, and we were dragged into a very unpleasant situation. I'd be feeling pretty unappreciated if I were him, especially if an ambitious club came forward.

The worry with Armas in my point of view is that he was Assistant to the current scum side we've seen last year. Yes they were bad under OGS but they have been dire under the last regime

The thing is does he want to play first team football or does he want to sit on the bench and collect the money. I can't really see him being a starter at Spurs or West Ham

    Morning.

I believe the 49ers have the option of a full takeover until January. That's why the media expect it to happen this summer now we have avoided relegation. It would make sense.

Guess we will wait and see.

Harrison isn't impossible to replace but new signings always have a 50/50 chance of being a success at best so why add an another unknown when we don't desperately need the money. Losing one of KP, Raph or Harrison wouldn't be a disaster, but if they all went in the same window we'd have to hope every one of our new signings hits the ground running.

If we lose Harrison and Raph which is looking likely we've got 2 replacements possibly lined up with Lang and Minaimino. The question must be are they actually good enough hit the ground running come August.

If Harrison goes you need to replace his 10 goals per season and assists. Yes it can be done but will Dan James do that? Costa? Summerville? Poveda?

our wings have been responsible for almost all our goals scored and assists this season, yet we dont know if Marsch wants wingers. If Rapha and Jack both go we have to replace 20 odd goals with their replacements

Why would he be a bench player for West Ham?

On the transfer thread watch the YouTube clip I’ve posted about Armas, shocking appointment

Harrison, I’m not a fan of his so on one hand I don’t care if he leaves, on another there are more on here who rate him than don’t so I find myself questioning my own opinion

    Afternoon all

I watched the first couple of minutes and learnt nothing. So i switched it off. Sounded like a couple of kids trying to be smartarses on facebook. Only one way to know anything and that is to watch us play.
