Same here, but how can anyone have any expectations of him? Hes no track record of being the no.1. We can have hopes and aspirations.

Ah ok, mate, I didn't know about your FFP situation although I am sure at the time it happened I was thinking how typical, hammer a club like QPR but just slap the wrists of the rich clubs like PSG and an City etc

Mate we received what was at the time a World record fine for any sport ! 60 mill which we managed to arrange to pay off at £3.50 a week for eternity lol. However the constraints we are under still remain, hence we can't be lavish spenders or we rum the risk of being in serious **** like Derby and others are and have been. Obviously the likes of PSG, City, Chelsea and others can spend what they like and nothing will ever be done about it. It stopped being a sport years ago and is just a cash cow for the privileged few nowadays alas. I prefer our outlook now of at least trying to produce our own youngsters or improve other ones we pick up cheaply, the days of Redknapp and Hughes throwing millions at has beens who just wanted a final pay day are thankfully long gone !

    Cheers dude.
I actually am at long last feeling quite positive about our future. I dont forsee an immediate impact on the pitch or in our league table result, i believe that will take time and patience. Its a strange situation of opinions really. Some would describe wanting Warbles gone and to be replaced as negative, others, like myself, think of it as a positive. If we finish 1 place above last season then thats progress to me and i will be happy.

As much as i dislike redknapp and especially hughes, youve got to look at the idiots who sanctioned the spending and question their business competence.

Totally agree - all sensible if we move forward. It means we’re making sensible/prepared decisions again for the benefit of the club and the fans.

Well we know who the main culprit was and he didn't do much better with his airline. Yes it was his money to do with as he wanted but the ramifications for club have proved catastrophic.

What makes me feel positive about the appointment is even if we finish ( as Bob has mentioned ) … one place above this season, l tend to think Beale will excel more so behind the scene, as with getting the juniors set up properly and blooding them. If he’s as good as they say he is, our development sector will soar and we the fans should see the benefits.

At least now, we fans will not be thinking of ‘more of the same will happen next season’.

I couldn't agree more. Whilst I would have supported a contract extension for Warburton, that is history now and I am excited by Beale's background and potential. His lack of experience in the number one job makes it a bit of a gamble and he - and our Board - will be hampered by our FFP constraints. Nonetheless, I am quietly optimistic for the coming season and will regard a modest move up the table - as opposed to expecting a playoff place - as welcome progress. Moreover, such a gradual evolution will allow Beale to build something longer lasting on the foundations left by Warburton. That way, if we eventually return to the Premier League, we may have a chance of staying there for a while.

That should be the QPR motto, 'cautiously optimistic'.

    Possibly followed by, 'usually disappointed'!

Too negative. Sorry. Its a new dawn.

To be honest, beale could find himself in a tricky situation. Talk of loans, which certainly helped the likes of Forest and Huddersfield can also have an impact on our clubs youngsters. Beale has a great reputation with youth coaching which will hopefully give our kids hope and encouragement but what effect may it have to see other teams youth coming to us and getting in ahead of them. It may not even happen but does pose a tricky scenario if it does. We all want to win games but at what expense are we willing to go. As with everything QPR, time will tell.

Good point Bob. I can’t see us not taking loans - so it is definitely a balancing act.
Again I think Beales experience with Liverpool youngsters going out on loan and Rangers/Villa in the loan markets should help in those decisions.
His academy coaches will have to convince him we have any young players who are ready to step up to the first team squad - the last manager clearly wasn’t fully convinced.
    Very intriguing times ahead.

Birmingham World report that Football Insider are claiming Beale Quit Villa, after falling out with some of Villa "stars" - including McGinn. I guess any Head Coach is going to end up pissing someone off...

If Football Insider was a newspaper I wouldn't use it to wipe my arse : as it's already full of ****.

I saw this story on Twitter at the weekend, and loads of Villa fans were replying saying it was a load of bollocks.

I thought I'd read not so long ago that the R's had sold one player for 10m quid, or did I (as I often do) misunderstand? If, however, that is so, who was the player? Many thanks to anyone who can put me right! :emoticon-0100-smile
