Pretty certain it's going to be Kevin Thomson as his no2 according to a mate who is close to the Rangers set up. They were very good mates at Rangers when Beale was there with Gerrard, and he's just resigned from his post as manager of Kelty Hearts who'd just won their league, along with his backroom staff, so it could be the lot of them.
I genuinely don't get what you're getting at with this. I don't understand why you continue to be antagonistic surrounding Warburton's departure. Accusing those who wanted him gone of not having any expectations for the new season and being 'scared' that they were wrong if Beale fails. Give it up mate. Move on.
All us Rangers fans pretty much agree that Beale was the brains behind Gerrard being manager for us and loads of people would love him back at Ibrox one day. As for Kevin Thomson, I think I read that he didn't want to be an assistant manager but the chance to go down to England with Beale mind have changed his mind. Also, what are the rumours about you signing Leon Balogun? Has it happened yet or are they just rumours?
I'd rather take Bassey, what a player he's going to be....reckon another season and you'll be selling him for big bucks
No disrespect, but if Bassey goes this summer, it won't be to a Championship club, but I agree with you, he is destined for big things.
He'd be well out of our price range, and most Championship clubs. Think he's got a few years left on his contract with you guys so if anyone does come in for him, he won't be cheap. He's impressed me when I've seen them play, and my blue nose pals speak highly of him
Just speculation I think, for now at least. I'd be a bit surprised though if we brought in someone else at his age.
I’m not the one talking about Warburton Col. I left that one some time ago. I just asked a question to see what people were expecting from the first 10 games - I also answered my own question. All related to MB. The only person I’m talking about is related to moving forward with MB. I have high expectations and I am really pleased we appointed him. I was rather surprised that the people who expressed little/no expectations were those wanting a new manager - I just thought they would have been more positive. I know I am.
What is just as surprising is those who wanted to keep Warbs have such high expectations of a guy who has never experienced being top dog.
I'm being cautious. Plus I have no idea how next season will pan out. I've said I'm pleased we appointed Beale, who sounds just like the kind of coach I was calling for. As I said, 10 games in we may have more of an idea how things will go. I'm cautiously optimistic. Edit.....you didn't mention Warburton by name, but you referred to those wanting a change at the end of last season, which is the same thing.
I feel really pleased he’s chosen us and I just hope he’s a massive success. If it doesn’t work out there’s always Tim Sherwood waiting in a gimp box in SLFs cellar.
As everyone would've noticed on here, no one wanted Warburton replaced by a younger manager than me. I'm delighted by his appointment and have high hopes, ultimately though it will completely depend on who he's allowed to bring in. Bringing young players through is all well and good but it ain't gonna get you promoted in the near future. If the board back him to an extent then I see no reason why we shouldn't make the top 6, from what Les saying about last season that he and the board thought they had a squad good enough to make the top 6, then I'd be very shocked if that isn't the minimum aim this time around. As long as we don't sell more than 1 big asset hopefully not Willock or Dieng then with some astute additions especially upfront and wing backs then I'd be hopeful Beale can give us a very strong season ! There you go I'm being upbeat and not pessimistic for a change. That will piss off a few eh Strolls
I doubt Beale would have moved to a club without getting assurances from the board regarding buying players this summer. That would make no sense imho
Once the old manager was gone you have to look forwards (not downwards!). You saw the options Bob! If I was taking someone who was inexperienced then MB would fit the bill. Seems we got the right man from what was put out there. We needed a manager - I’m pleasantly surprised with what we got. Good starting point.
We have a very limited budget pal due to FFP , whoever was coming in would've been told that he wouldn't have a bucket load of cash for players. I'm hoping along the lines of his association with previous clubs to bring in some top loans just like Forest did with Cooper.
