Bob, I know you're adamant these two haven't benefited from the club and haven't stolen money, you may be 100% correct.

TBH mate, even if that was proven beyond doubt people are still entitled to their opinion that they're scum.

What you're trying to prove isn't the issue, for people, as far as I can see, the financial intricacies are irrelevant.

It's their character and integrity that's the issue.

Those 2 mugs going is absolutely massive. New investment and share split, yeah agree so in theory it's not a takeover. However, think of the bigger picture and future implications.

No but that's a good thing imo.

I'm happy with KLD as chairman and I see this as progress.

I don't want any big ego coming in upsetting things just trusted like minded souls.

I can't see any big money being thrown at this and it shouldn't be needed. Derby has been a wake up call for the Championship and I can't see any club spending lots ... those days have gone.

It's only the relegated clubs that might take risks with the parachute money.

Bringing in the likes of Matete from below, or Clarke from above, and developing them, or moving them on for a profit, and the loan market is what I'm expecting.

You may have been told different but that's the gossip I'm getting.

KLD has always been about sustainability and it's absolutely right that is a focus moving forward. To many clubs have went into implosion mode by silly chairman thinking they are playing champ manager.

The club sill have lofty ambitions and with targeted, investment into the playing squad, following a similar process to last year they can achieve them.

Additionally, with the chancers gone, this is simply more achievable and increases the speed at which it can be met.

I would rather the club "stabilised" in the championship for 3 or 4 years to be honest. We had been on a downward trajectory for at least 10 years that ended up with us in the 3rd tier for 4 seasons. SAFC being in the 3rd tier is, and was completely unacceptable. Being in the 2nd tier, whilst not the ideal is acceptable for a club the size of Sunderland and only a good season away from where we all think we should be.

Although I fully understand the need for sustainability and I would love us to be as successful as Brentford at it, I would also like to see us spend a bit of coin this summer to gives us a leg up from merely survival to a solid championship team.

In my view, if we continue with the majority of the team that was 5th in league 1 then logic tells me we will be closer to the bottom of the next league up than the middle.

But this would only be to kick start the build. I have no desire to go back to the Premier League until we are properly ready for it. Going up via the play offs quickly and being relegated in an embarrassing way would not do this club any favours whatsoever, albeit with parachute payments in the bank obviously. In the real world it would be completely demoralising - again.

being flatly honest i really do not want loads of cash to be thrown into the club...don't get me wrong, if it meant trophies and sat at the top of the premier it would indeed be a 'magic carpet ride' but at the back of my mind, and everyone elses i guess, would be 'what happens when the owners get sick and want to move on?'.

look at liverpool, went for a quadruple, missed out on two but mainly the CL cup and within a week the stories are everywhere that the likes of salah and mane 'would welcome a move', manchester united, had a disastrous season for them missing out on the CL places and suddenly their players want to be away (stories and rumours again of course) ...now, if those players do decide to move they have to be replaced with similar or better and that would be the seasonal worry if we were the type of club to throw the cash about, at some point you could miss out on the 'cream of talent' and how long would the rest of the squad hang around then?

i am also of the opinion that all the cash will kill the top end of football or these mega rich owners will get bored and move onto something else...it could take a good while and doubtful i will ever see any glory days now but i suspect that some time in the (probably) not too distant future the 'well run on a budget' type clubs will start to take over.

i make no claim to be any kind of expert or even to having any great idea about the running of a business but i like the way KLD is going about things, not making any loud noises or attention seeking, getting the right staff in where needed, no mad claims about champions league within 5 years or any of the other rubbish we often see spouted...i think we can all see improvements, nowt 'earth shattering' but steady improvements and that will do for me.

I think we'll do alright next season. Wouldn't be at all suprised if we're knocking on the door of the playoffs, maybe even better if we do really good business. Momentum is everything and we have it coming off the back of the playoffs. AN was on a 'make do and mend' remit when he took over, but he's got the time and space to shape things now, I reckon he'll get it right.

Ok my last bit on this, the balance from the parra payment was used to close off 3 existing deals and a club loan, so its in the accounts shown in black and white

    I agree with the above.

Anyone throwing money around in the Championship is a fool in my opinion. It's a graveyard of mismanaged clubs and last time we were here, we were the biggest wreck of the lot. To overspend on transfer fees and wages is to not learn the lessons of the past.

Sensible spending on players who can be developed and who have resale value is the way forward for this club. Our training facilities and academy are things that can set us apart. Mix that with experience in key positions and we'll rise again naturally in time.

Very little money was spent in the championship last season. Fulham threw a bit around and got their reward. They were the only one to spend a hefty fee on one player - Harry Wilson. Middlesborough did a bit but I suspect their budget this year will be based on Djed Spence. I cant see many clubs in the championship being able or willing to spend. That does of course make it a good season to be a club that will...

I can see West Brom having a go. I think Watford will as well. We should want to push the boat out for the right players in my opinion. I am not talking £10m here and there. If we can do a good deal for £3m - £4m I would hope we do though. Forest did the deal for Surridge at a couple of million and it pushed them over the line. I would be surprised if we dont spend a good amount of money across the squad. Loans will be important too, but I think they will be harder to come by in the championship, particularly when you look at people like Beale landing at QPR with his contacts.

I honestly believe we are in a great position to be really positive this season, and have a right good go at it.
