People don't want to see the good in anyone who's shiit on them, no matter who or what the situation may be. The fact that they laughed at us behind our backs overrides all the financial intricacies and opinions. For a comparison look at Boris Johnson who no doubt gives to charities and has done some good things ... ... but he was booed at the Queen's Jubilee because people now see him as a lying rat and a hypocrite. And that's how I see Donald and Methven. No matter what's said in their defence they'll go down as dirt in the history of the club, in fact the defence makes them look worse imo. It also makes their defenders look like apologists who see details but not the big picture. No offence but I'm delighted they're gone and can't wait until they're no longer mentioned.
I never mentioned money stolen, my point was in my post. But the fact was they took money out of the club that wasn't theirs to pay for it. Whether that's all been paid back as Donald promised it would've been in the podcasts he appeared on is down to the accountants. What I'm saying is I don't agree with it but that's probably why I'm not a rich business man
As you say we differ, that's fine, personally i will be happy when they are gone, it will be a breath of fresh air, but who comes in might change all that, on that we wait and see. 1 other point KLD has till Friday midnight to change his mind, and then honour his original offer, or then whoever it is their deal goes through
Thank you Bob, l'm just thankful to read the tip bit posted and hope for good news as and when it breaks and trust me l will not be requesting any PM's
I've got more faith in KLD in the short time he's been at the club than either of those 2 chancers. He's put more money into the club to get it back on an even keel than either of those 2 have even thought of
If KLD wanted to honour his original offer he would have by now. So he must be comfortable with whoever is taking up the option.
Have to agree. Personally its the duplicity of the pair that annoys me. Hindsight is a great thing. Like others I was taken in by them when they took over. Talks of rebuilding and 5 year plans. When in reality they not only had no intentions but didn't have the means to do it. They had no interest in Sunderland as a club just self interest and profit. Behind the scenes they embarked on a typical and pretty unimaginative cost saving exercise. Selling it as saving the club from excess when in reality they were trying to save themselves money and maximize their profits. They tore the heart out of the club and came within a whisker of administration. I have no idea of KLD's long term plans. Maybe he's after a profit when we get to the Prem good luck to him. But you just have to look at those faces and the atmosphere at Wembley to know things are very different now.
@6inarow is saying that the family friend link is suggesting it’s not Mr John Reece over yonder road. (Not sure if it’s hit here yet) Can’t wait to see exactly who this is. what we have to think is that the bar is set by CM and SD so whomever comes in has to be the same financial clout (at least as SD!)
Didn't KLD directly say that they had Asset stripped the club. That in itself tells you everything anyone needs to know.
Why an earth do people go online to have constant, prolonged arguments with relative strangers. It's so bizarre like
If KLD didn't like the new shareholders he would veto them. Besides if the new shareholders didn't like KLD they wouldn't be buying what are basically worthless shares. As they're minority shares they have no power and are only of value if added to or sold. Either could turn out to be complicated and costly.
