I am really disappointed that Mane is going. But I was just as disappointed when Suarez left, when Torres left, when Coutinho left. Klopp will already have thought of who would fit into his plans. FSG just need to back him now
Yep,Klopp and his team will have been planning for this for a year or two. It is an inevitable evolution of the squad. It's a shame we will be saying goodbye to Sadio, but I'm looking forward to new signings for next season and beyond. Anyone know when the window opens?......I believe its not far away.
I wasn't disappointed with any of them leaving, they all kicked up a stink for well over six months before leaving si we expected it. Sad to see them go, yes. But not disappointed
personally think its more he only has a year left and it is clear he wants to go rather than age per se .
He's won everything with us and leaves us when we are still at an elite level. So good luck to him. He's not abandoning ship or going to a bigger club or more successfull club.
Was seen mouthing something to Trent in training I think. Never gonna be a top striker, but easily an Origi role
Abraham is a better striker than Origi. He’s scored goals where ever he’s played. 91goals in 204 apps. 17 for Roma this season playing under Mourinho and only 24. I’m not saying we should buy him but he’s no mug as a forward.
As you hint, he's not the first to leave and won't be the last. The club remains, the players don't. As for Mane, he's probably on the back end of his peak now, given the type of player he is you're looking at about 2 (maybe 3) years before he won't be a starter at a top level club. Not to say if he did stay (looks like he's not) he wouldn't be worth it, but if now is the time he goes so be it. At least we can use any money from his sale to find someone similar and younger who will go for more than the 2-3yrs.

I know he's in the last year of his contract, but that is an insult. Frankly I'd refuse to do business with them again if they came up with that.
What you expecting? last year of contract (free next season), age and an obvious want to be out of there. Not going to get top price with that combination.
agree…but at £21m we may as well keep him for the year. Reality is that this offer is almost identical to the one we payed for Thiago so the cast is set to some degree. Forwards are always more expensive but I doubt the fee will rise above £30m
So in summary: - Milner agrees new 1 year extension on significantly reduced terms. I know a lot of you wanted him gone but this is good news IMO. - I reckon Mane will go for £40m - We want Nunez - it's interesting that Joyce specifically mentions that we won't overpay for him - making it very clear to Benfica that we won't engage in any bidding war (amidst the competition from United). If we do go for Nunez, then I think we will finally see a change in the system - maybe a 4231 with him as the focal point.
