No one should have to sing the national anthem. We have the right not to, its a freedom.

I don't believe in God nor do I believe in having a monarchy, so it would be rather hypocritical for me to sing 'God save the Queen'

 

Mans a ****ing disgrace and should never wear the shirt again, he certainly wouldn't be missed.

 

Weird that every game for the past 20 years there’s always been 1 or 2 that don’t sing. Can’t remember it ever being an issue before

 

One or two that lip sync because they don't know the words or embarrassed by their singing (it happens all over even churches) but can't remember any that point blank refused to make an effort when the camera passed them.

 

We booed the anthem too. As seems timely atm "God save the queen, the fascist regime".

 

There has always been the case. Maybe it’s because it’s never been an issue to anyone ever before

You're right. Wayne Rooney didn't sing it. Funny no outrage over him not singing.

 

There have been lots that haven't sung it and it's been made an issue of quite a few times too

 

Had i seen it i most certainly would have.

Would not have said the same about McClean though because i believe he has a valid reason.

People also complained a couple of years ago when in the close ups you could hear how out of tune the singing was. Again all the internet warriors coming out with how disgraceful it was and they 'should be ashamed of themselves' .... for singing out of tune Honestly, some people are just waiting around to be offended.

 

Now that is why i mentioned lip sinc, at least you can make the effort and i know many just do that.

I've just had a look on YouTube for England - games - national - anthem. I watched 5 videos and so far here are the players not singing the anthem ... Wayne Rooney, Aaron Lennon, James Milner and GARY NEVILLE. Those utd players are an absolute disgrace if you ask me

 

Wouldn't argue with that, i bet they all said how "proud" they were to get their first caps too

Od rather a player play well and not sing. Than sing their heart out and play ****.

saying that, most players that play for England play **** no matter what they do during the anthem so doesn’t really make much difference
