    Grand so.

I fancied Gateshead away, which would've been much tougher.

There was an ex-Halifax fan on the old 606. I wonder if he's still about.

Decent chance of this being on TV. Both Sheffield clubs drew league clubs, and Preston were at home. Can't remember who Huddersfield got.

With the Halifax back-story, and us on top of the table in League 1, very very very likely that this one will be on TV.

Thought Notts County away would have been much more up-your-street, Irish ?

From Hell, Hull, and Halifax may the Good Lord deliver us...:emoticon-0100-smile

"I don't think League One leaders Charlton will fancy their trip to play FC Halifax Town for starters - and lots of other upsets on the cards." Chris Bevan - BBC Website

Why not? Because with another side and another manager and another philosophy we put up a disgraceful performance and lost at Northwich Victoria? Halifax are half way down Conference North and are shipping nearly two goals a game.

    3-0.

And more if we take it with any degree of seriousness.

Yeah, I can see Meadow Lane from my flat, so it would've been handy, but fancied another trip to the northeast. All of the midlands clubs would've been handy enough to get to.

Halifax should be OK to get to. I'll have to collect my stubs from the away matches so far.

Yes. 10k capacity, according to Wiki, which is more than Hartlepool.

Shaymen will be up for this one and their form is just beginning to turn at the moment with a 3-2 home win over Hyde on Tuesday night who are currently 2nd in the table and have just suffered 1 other defeat this season. Do you think you will take a lot of fans up to this one?

I went to see Sutton vs Leatherhead yesterday as one of my colleagues captains the Leatherhead side. It was a cracking match. I would have loved to have played either of these as I know a player in one team and used to live near Gander Green Lane and therefore have a soft spot for the other.
Halifax away is a tough tie and likely to bring out the worst in all of us, impatient fans, over confident players and an expectant media. Hopefully we can get to the 3rd round get a glamour tie at home and then focus on the task in hand having run one of the big boys close.

Why? We have plenty of senior players who cannot get a competitive game at present and badly need one. They should take priority: Sullivan, Francis, Doherty, Evina, Alonso, Bover, Benson, Euell, Hayes and Davisson. I have left out Stephens because if it gets physical he couldn't show what he can do and we don't want him injured but, if he is keen to play and feels he needs a run-out, then play him too.

Those who don't like Francis may not want him to play but if he is to get a loan or transfer away he needs to be able to show he is fit and on form. Apparently he has done well in some tough "development" matches lately. Same applies to Benson, except that as far as Powell is concerned he is still part of his plans (which Francis clearly isn't). Warren is out on loan, Popo is injured, Harriott is behind Davisson in the pecking-order and in ability.

I guess it will come too soon for Pritchard, but if not, that is another one who should play ahead of any youngster. Their time will come. The priority now is to keep our first-team squad honed and all ready to play when called upon. Maybe when we are 22 points ahead of the third-placed team with only seven matches to go we can start thinking about the youngsters. Nice thought, that!

4 - whereabouts in Leeds do you work? i spent 2 years working in Harehills in mid 2000's and totally enjoyed my time there- after getting over the initial shock ! People dont realise that you can get 2 miles north of Leeds and almost be in the Dales.

Yes indeed, FHB but I'm banking on our traditional ghastly showing and multiple past disappointments being swept away on a tide of irrepressable optimism, silky one-touch football and a couple of dodgy penalties...:emoticon-0136-giggl

    At least, that's the plan.

Ah yes, Tewkes; the same rush of optimism I get every year before we get unceremoniously dumped out of the cup by a lower-league club. I recognise the signs.

    I'd go for:

    Sullivan
    Francis-Cort-Doherty-Evina
    Wagstaff-Alonso-Stephens-Harriott
    Benson-Euell

I'd actually like to see Freddie Warren given a go at RB, I believe it was he who put in a brilliant performance at RB in pre-season against Welling. Francis and Benson clearly have no future at the club so I'm not too sure whether they will start.

    I'll go for a 1-0 win.

Anyone know which stand away fans are located in?
