    New lad easily bounced out.

    Broad will follow quick imo.

England construe to chase balls as.per the last 18months without getting in and throw wickets.at them to the point they can ow bully the tail off the park.

Stokes was down swinging bat at ball hard as well. It's.just start it in. Seam.away and watch the England batter swing wildly and throw wicket away

    Looking at highlights again.

I think there were 4? Absolute flogs from players, 2 form each side in there of Absolute gift wickets.

Bairstow like.... lots of hard hands throwing the bat at the ball and both sides chopped the ball onto stumps.

The movement of the ball wasn't all that either. A lot of good length and ball going away from big drives.

Absolutely no such thing as playing yourself in at all.

Only England can turn what was a brilliant day into a meh one with another dross batting performance.

Wonder if Cook fancies another go with England? Jimmy and broad still out there doing it in 30s, cook could easily be opening up for us still tbh

tbf it wasn't the openers fault this time, only ones to score any runs.

Middle order has crapped it up this time, 3 down to 8 the highest score is 11.

Its the same problems, doesn't matter who is cpt or seemingly coach, England can't bat.
Either the batting coaching is crap or they're being over coached and analysed, too much thinking instead of just playing the game.

Or they just aren’t good enough. Don’t play against decent bowling in championship games. They just play 70mph dobbers on green pitches, and then come up against 85mph bowlers in test matches and don’t know what to do.

Also say that openers weren’t the issue, agree in this case when compared to rest of team. But really 59 isn’t a great opening partnership in most scenarios. Be interesting to see the average opening partnership for England since cook retired as really 70-80 is when should be looking for.

Crawley did OK and got a bit old analysis of his failures after. Hard bottom hand driving and bat closing etc etc.

Not much about root and bairstow chasing half bouncers they could have left and providing chances or nothing about several just wafting bal at ball. I saw good bowling not brilliant bowling taking a lot of wickets yesterday. Decent line and length and pitch slope taking it away. Massive bat swing through line and nick nick nick

    Jimbo dord it again.

5-1 and other classic in to out ball and batsman is caught with bat held out in front and nicks the movement

At this point the nz batsmen are digging in to avoid playing shots and see off Anderson.

    conway gone. 56/4

actually a poorish ball by broad at the left hander thats come too far in and conway swings and barely clips hit as it goes down leg side and a good reaction catch by keeper. foakes has been good.

england have been stopping any scoring and conway went chasing a ball he could leave and another batsman error.

The pace of wickets has slowed here. ball is aging and not doing too much right now.

This could become a bit of a grind by NZ just to very very very slowly build a lead

    even spin now on.

the ball has died on england and could be crucial this.

    91/4 82 lead.

the longer this goes now the worse it gets.

Both opening innings had ball changed for shape and umpires are refusing england here. i assume they'd said tough now too many wickets too quick with them getting better balls.

The whole thing has gone flat. There's nothing special on show as batting.

    Parkinson is average, doing OK.

Nz could have a very dependable total by end of day and England collapse inevitable.

    We will see.
