Thanks for this, I saw the news of his passing but knew very little about him or his bands
Another music path to wander down for me

I've just read that BBC4 is to close , an oasis for arts , music and alternative TV, over the years it has screened The Bridge,Spiral, Beck ,the killing and so many more plus so much music and a place for alternative quiz and lifestyle programmes.
The beeb can still find a place for Mrs Browns Boys , another nail in the coffin for culture in this country

I think this was the line that got him
Hello-hooray, I'd prefer the plague, to the Eton rifles, Eton rifles

AFAIK, the budget for new in-house music stuff had
ceased sometime ago (so everything you are seeing
    now is repeats) .

I similarly assume the budget isn't there to purchase the
euro dramas, the docs that come under the Storyville banner etc.

Received. I don't threaten people online. That'd be evidence. <whistle>

This nutcase got upset when I questioned his rhetoric: https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Dennis_Markuze
Said he was going to track me down. I told him I was in London and wished him luck.
Didn't realise he was a genuine lunatic at the time, to be fair! <laugh>

Wow. He sounds nearly as mad as some on the Sunderland board.

Genuinely unhinged and the police just seem to let him get away with it, for some reason.
He needs treatment. Either that or a spot on AFTV.

    Researching the enemy I think.
There’s little about The Jam which could possibly appeal to Cameron.
As Weller said: “Which part of the lyrics didn’t he get?”

Suddenly, there's a glut of gigs on the horizon.

We're off to see the antipodean future of punk, Amyl and The Sniffers at The Brixton Academy on Wednesday, with Mrs B's more than slightly creepy brother-in-law..

Then, a week later, on the 9th, it's The 100 Club, for another band with an excellent female lead singer, Pussycat and the Dirty Johnsons...

    ...supported by The Teenage Werewolves...

    What could possibly be nicer?

I am sure that he could really identify with a song like Saturdays Kids

'Saturdays Kids live in council houses, wear V Necked shirts and baggy trousers'

Absolutely loved that LP, although I already had All Mod Cons that was the first one I bought on day of release. Funnily enough it seems like yesterday but I do remember buying The Dickies 2nd LP Dawn of the Dickies at the same time and rushing back home to play them both. I made the mistake of sticking Setting Sons on first so it was a few hours before I got to hear the Dickies LP as I had Setting Sons on repeat play!

Oh the joy of being one of the first to buy an album , anticipation of the first play and playing it non stop until your parents tell you to give it a rest <laugh>
I remember the the late capital radio DJ Roger Scott telling of the pleasure of playing a record loud enough from your house and watching the reaction of people passing by

Well, last night's gig was quite the room divider. A pretty full Academy, with 2 nights to come, suggests that Amyl & The Sniffers are 'big time baby'... and we finally attended a gig where the under 30's were the majority of the audience!

    Hurrah!!!!

Unfortunately, all was not well amongst my group. Mrs B loved the band...but properly hated the singer. She wasn't especially keen on the large amount of bending over (in micro hot pants) and thrusting away at the mic, but she saved the majority of her ire for her vocals. I think the line was...

"Like a ****ing Aussie chipmunk on helium." <laugh>

My mate Richie just walked out. He later told me that was the 5th time he'd walked out in over 40 years of gigging. I will try and get details of the other four...

Still, I met Richie's mate, punk DJ Pete Fox and he said that he had some AAA passes for Rebellion and would I like one?

I take it bears are still wearing pointy hats and defecating in woody areas?

Up early to travel to Welsh Wales and collect my new MV...and hopefully a Moto Guzzi 350 Imola. Fingers crossed.

Got the MV, which is beautiful and took a little punt on a Moto Guzzi 350 Imola. Someone's going to have a very happy 60th birthday!
