Maybe an idea to keep an eye out for Sunderland as we have a good relationship with them. Our loan manager is ex Sunderland youth coach, we also sold them Niall Huggins who is obviously mates and fellow defender with Cresswell?
Either or. Be nice to loan out our youngsters with a view to readying them for us rather than because they haven’t and won’t make the grade, and / or get 50 million for them like Brighton did with Ben White.
Looks like we are also trying to sign Brazilian wonderkid Renyer. 18yo Santos player. Man City have been buying up kids like 17yo Kayki last summer and he blew our U23s away single handedly. If we can pull it off great. Had a look at him on youtube and some of his skills are scary, but some doesnt come off but when it does wow this kid is another Raphinha but maybe more skill?
Don't want to step on any toes but I think @Leedsoflondon meant that Burnley won't have any centre halves next year so loan them Cresswell and/or Hjelde to get them games. Not that we should sign Ben Mee. Probably because he thinks Ben Mee is a ****.
It wasn't just the final game though. Throughout the whole season he seemed to be holding back and not flying into any challenges and then his decision to refuse to play on the last day just showed exactly where his head had been for months.
I don't see any space for most of these young lads other than Gelhardt. Marsch likes Greenwood but is he good enough? He's still young and learning but I still have my doubts. he wouldn't get in my team/squad next season. he's filled holes but personally I've never said after a game I hope he plays again next week. If this R/B is coming in it's goodbye to Drameh. I would like to keep most of the on the brink lads but other than Gelhardt I've always said ship them all out on loan to give them what they want first team football in the championship we will soon see if they sink or swim. Then we have the fall back of the improvers for the future. I do understand them though they are young and eager and just want to play sitting on bench's is far from what they need or want. All these that have been out on loan other than Drameh can all go none have shone and if you can't shine in the lower league's it's time to go. As on the first team I really hope there is going to be a shake up. This season should be a lesson and that lesson is quite a few are not good enough and changes are needed and not just tinkered changes.
Agree. Send Greenwood, Dramah, Cresswell, Summerville and Hjelde on loan to get games. Make sure we tie them down on beforehand so we get a decent fee if we decide to sell.
So who will be our 5 subs this comimg season if we send our young talents out on loan ? We can easily bring them all through at various points throughout the season and Jesse certainly proved in that final game at Brentford that he has no qualms whatsoever about playing them.
Well you can have Ayling as one sub, Dallas as another, Klich another, Cooper another and already you have a much better bench than we had all last season. Add Bamford too if we bring in a striker, cos he deserves to be benched after his season off not a bad bench…
Jeez if I can't convince you Doc that we need to keep and progress our youngsters from within the club then it's definitely time to stop flogging that particular dead horse
If we get this new RB, a midfielder to play with Kalvin and a striker like we seem to be after. First team might be... -------------------Meslier Kristensen-Llorente-Coops-Firpo -------Phillips---------New lad Raphinha---Aaronson---Harrison -----------------New Lad Subs. Klaasen. Koch. Ayling. (When back after injury) Struijk. James. Shackleton. Klich. Forshaw. Roberts. Rodrigo. Gelhardt. Dallas (when back from injury). Bamford. Pretty strong.
...but the likes of Summerville, Cresswell and Dramah are vocal on wanting games out on loan. Gallagher was easy good enough to sit on Chelseas bench this season but they will get more out of him after being on loan.
Or they are vocal that they want to progress by getting game time. The change this season to 5 substitutes means that's entirely possible and from there you force your way into the starting eleven. Honestly that's how I thought football works or do you just scream 'n' scream until you get your own way these days
Orta should have been given a knighthood for assembling that squad don't you think ? Ok he hasn't actually done it yet but Rome & a day etc etc.
