A further update, when the placing of the away fans in the NW corner was discussed in previous years, the main issue was the proximity to our corporate fans, rather than any ground safety/practicality issue (there being around 3,000 corporate members at the time). The possibility of safe standing is being discussed.
I was a little tongue in cheek given the Trust sharing with the club the responses to their loaded question about improving the atmosphere by evicting us again.
Wasn’t it also announced immediately after cup final weekend? And as you say the whole group had to go in person the following weekend to get early choice of seats? Prior to that if my memory serves me right, we were just getting use to buying on line, so to suddenly have to attend en masse was ridiculous. There were so many hurdles to make for some of the most loyal supporters (the original E1/E3 were predominantly the Kempton hardcore from Boothferry). However that section of the ground was also the loudest ‘No’ voters, so I have no doubt this was planned to ‘cleanse’ the support. We had also had a long season of protests, so the timing ensured this one would go through very quietly. While I am pissed off about a further eviction, and feel he has may be badly advised (or is barking mad), I am sure he has good intentions, unlike that previous eviction which lost so many loyal supporters.
Portsmouth are having a full refurb of their main stand and some seats will no longer exist, due to wider gangways and new dug outs. Pass holders that are forced to move are invited to sit in their new seats at an open day next month. The club won't be selling passes to new applicants until at least the second match of the season, giving those that are moved chance to find a view they like.
Very sensible I’ll try and book seats Monday and try have no ****ing idea where they will actually be as there’s no detailed seating plan as far as I’m aware?
I'll be moving from my E3 seat with my son to somewhere in North Stand ain't got a clue where to yet.
