Struijk (age 22) contract end date 30th June 2024 New contract required for Pascal as well. That's 5 young players Victor Orta has brought to the club that all now need contract renewals. Say what you like about our Victor but he's definitely recruited well in that all important younger age group. Cresswell I'm presuming predates Orta but at least he had the good sense to give him a 4 year deal last summer.
I don't think he was thinking of leaving, more like getting more regular football by going out on loan, that's only if he doesn't get much first team football with us. I agree we'd be mad to let him go.

If we get this new right back it would free Ayling up to cover the RB and centre half position in case of absences. That would allow Cresswell, Hjelde and Dramah to go out on loan to the Championship for a season. That gives us a clue on how they will do going forward in time for the likes of Cooper and Ayling to slowly move out of the team. To be honest, shove Cresswell to Burnley for a season. They need a Tarkowski replacement and I think Cresswell would shine.
Ben Mee leaving Burnley on a free and Tarkowski likely to follow, they also have a financial crisis, good time to loan them Cresswell (and possibly Heldje) for a season to blood them, similar to us with the Ben White scenario.
