Our conductor was after paying for his next holiday by the time he’d finished with us all!

Turkish area was brilliant, and when we went was the fashionable place to dance the night away…God knows what we were doing there!

Not been up, although had a drink in the area which was nice, but the restaurant up the television tower is supposed to be good.

No idea where but in the days when I was happy to be complicit in the murder of animals we had a full suckling pig on a table in a pub just for our party. Classic apple in the mouth style. Was very nice.

Nice meal in some Italian under railway arches too.

None of this is helpful because apart from the Turkish area where we stayed once, and a nicer hotel round the Brandenburg Gate we stayed another time I can’t really remember where it was we ate and drank…for fairly obvious reasons!

Quite liberating going commando for the rest of the day and night

Also take a look at the Romany Memorial which is near the Bundestag in the park. I learned about something I knew nothing about, eye opening in a very sad way.

    I feel I shouldn’t say this…but I will.

we went to the Jewish memorial (assuming you mean the Holocaust memorial near Brandenburg?) which for those that haven’t is lots of different sized tall blocks, most much taller than you.

@askewshair slightly ruined the sombre, thoughtful, experience…by jumping out and shouting boo! :emoticon-0127-lipss

To be fair to him it was a weird weekend. Me and him also ended up marching in a protest. Serious enough for a Police escort, but genuinely no idea what it was about but they looked like our type of people and I do like a protest !

Good memories of two very different trips, one with our better halves and then a stag weekend both involving ridiculous amounts of alcohol. Dennis had done the research, so I was quite happy to be dragged along and didn’t even know where some of these weird memories in my head actually came from until just reading his posts! Although unhelpful for you Phinius (as presumably out of season) the stag group took in a Hertha Berlin game. The very different match day experience was well worth it.
The stag party was actually for Dennis’s son in law. His daughter’s parting words to the groom before the trip were ‘don’t try and keep up with dad’. As he was later seen vomiting into a bin in the middle of a very busy underground station, he obviously failed to take her advice.

Who's her son? Used to present the RU on the telly. Or am I getting him confused with someone else's son?

Ps..I never knew that Ben Fogle is the son of actress Julia Foster.

I rode in one in East Germany in the eighties, and experience not to be missed, if you like a downgrade of a Reliant.
