I know Chaplow has come on since being at Saints, but I still don't understand how we got him so cheap (especially as we were known to have the odd bob or two).

It was because Fergie Jnr hated him.

Yes, and with Chaplow you save a fortune in hair care products. Little bit of Pledge and he's done.

Loved Chris Marsden, but football genius was ironic. Chaplow is a better player.

Fergie Jr is only famous because of his dad anyway. He is really a big-headed tw@t...

I remember when Chaplow scores in the 4-4 draw at Peterborough and immediately celebrated next to Fergis Jr! Same again please!

I have only one concern regarding Chaplow. Maybe one day, someone will do a genetics test on him and discover that there is a small piece of racehorse DNA in there! What a workrate!

<laugh> I know, that run of his where he picked up the ball in our area, went the whole length of the field evading tackle after tackle and ended up crossing the ball for Fonte was just just astonishing! If Red Rum could have played football, he'd have played like Chaplow!

Indeed, but the reason CM was successful and well liked was his commitment to the cause. He worked his socks off every game. Chaplow does this, but as you say, has a better footballing brain.

I put this on the thread about Chaplow and Butterfield earlier:
How well Chaplow played was summed up by Steve Claridge on the FLS. When asked about Chaplow he was at first almost speechless! When he finally found his words he was so full of praise and likened him to being like a new signing. Watch out Fergie Jnr/Peterborough, Chappers is coming for you.....

Every PNE fan in the world, and everybody who listened to them who had no reason to think otherwise. He was crap for them.
