Mate I feel you need to get this saute'd out in your head. By getting your Jacket in a twist over this will just make you boil[/I] over. Don't think it's right you should roast people over this. If you worry about this too much your brain will turn to mash
Hoops should expect less capital joy this time around Can QPR repeat last weekend's heroics? QPR have flattered to deceive this season and are likely to struggle against in-form Tottenham at White Hart Lane. The Hoops beat Chelsea last weekend but the Blues gifted them the victory as Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba both got sent off in the first half. Even with a two-man advantage, QPR struggled to keep their lead and since their deadline day transfer splurge on August 31, their only other win was against a struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers. On occasion this season, the Hoops have looked hopeless, losing 6-0 to Fulham earlier this month and 4-0 on the opening day at home to Bolton, who are now in the relegation zone. In contrast, Spurs have won five of their last six, including last weekendâs 2-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Harry Redknappâs side have matched Manchester Cityâs form in the last six games and new signings Emmanuel Adebayor and Scott Parker have settled in very well. In particular, Rafael van der Vaart is back in goal-scoring form and looks fitter than last season. In this London derby, it is unlikely QPR will have the same good fortune they enjoyed in last weekendâs one. http://www.sharethematch.com/News/32659
Tottenham v QPR Betting Preview Sat 29th Oct 2011 12:28 by LFW Pundits QPR travel to Spurs tomorrow and the LFW pundits are back to look ahead to that one, and the rest of the weekend sporting action. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...d=14596&title=tottenham_v_qpr_betting_preview
Unbelievable. I have been trying to give you guys the benefit, but a glance at your board really does reveal a bunch of po faced self righteous nerds. Don't you realise that insults from your rivals is a form of respect? We're having to get right up people's noses to get noticed (its worked with Chelski) and you get upset because of a harmless wind up. Lighten up and get rid of that chip from your shoulder (couldn't resist it). I would also love to do a spot test on Spurs' fans knowledge of Shakespeare.....
Fine that's up to them, I don't regard my intense dislike of the term 'spuds' as 'precious', I regard it it as valid.
Redknapp: Taarabt is a 'fruitcake' Harry Redknapp has branded Adel Taarabt a "fruitcake", but the Tottenham manager still thinks the controversial QPR midfielder has the potential to live up to the "next Zidane" tag he was given upon signing for Spurs four years ago. Taarabt, who like Zidane has northern African roots but grew up in France, arrived at Tottenham as a 17-year-old from Lens, but he failed to make an impression at the club despite the hype that surrounded his signing. Redknapp opted to sell him to the Loftus Road club on a permanent basis for around £1million in August last year. Despite some of the problems he has caused R's boss Warnock off the pitch, Redknapp is in no doubt about the youngster's capability on it. He said: "He is a bit of a fruitcake but he's got amazing ability." Following his move across London, Taarabt excelled in the npower Championship, racking up 19 goals to help Neil Warnock's team achieve promotion to the Barclays Premier League. The 22-year-old has proved a controversial figure during his team at Loftus Road. He has fallen out with the club's hierarchy on a number of occasions over several issues and has regularly talked up rumours of him leaving for some of Europe's top teams. Redknapp added: "When he came here they called him the next Zidane. He isn't in the same league as Zidane. He (Zidane) was a genius. But one day Taarabt could be up there, because he's got that ability, and he could develop. "He can play anywhere, he's got that much talent, it's just whether his head is right." Redknapp only reluctantly agreed to sell Taarabt after becoming frustrated with the player for his persistent desire to show off on the pitch. The Spurs boss is convinced Taarabt will be doing all he can to show him what he missed out on Sunday when QPR come to White Hart Lane. "It was a difficult one really with Adel," Redknapp said. "I didn't really want to get rid of him to be honest with you. I was scared to let him go because I always felt that he could come back and haunt you, or bite you. "His skill is frightening, and he could be a great player. If his head's right then he can be brilliant. Come Sunday I'm sure he'll want to be brilliant again." iReader
I will never lighten up about that horrible term 'spuds', for the reasons givenn. Most Spurs fans may not know much about Shakespeare, but I and many others are aware of the story behind our wonderful second name and the nickname derived from it. Harry Hotspur was part of the Northumberland 'Percy' family, who owned much of the land in Tottenham at one time. Our founding fathers, actually quite of a lot of them were youngsters, duly added the historic, romantic name of Hotspur to the prosaic Tottenham. The club is very proud of the fact that in a country full of 'Uniteds, Citys and Rovers, there is only one Hotspur'. I share that feeling of pride with many other Spurs' fans.
Cheers Northolt Incidentally a lot of Spurs fans aren't particularly bothered by 'spuds', but some of us are. I wouldn't have a clue as to the relevant percentages Re Taarabt, he is certainly a fascinating part of what today may offer, am so looking forward to his and many other players' contributions, particularly my favourite, VDV.
i'm quite worried about VDV, he's looking good at the moment. adebayor is looking like a good signing too.
Yep 1982, for me, we haven't had a better finisher than VDV since Jimmy Greaves, that's how highly I rate him. He's also a fighter too, which is why I like him so much in addition to his skills. Re that year 1982, it brings back a lot of memories for so many of the fans who will be watching today.

A Spurs greatest XI that doesn't include Jennings, Mackay, England, Jones and Greaves, and doesn't have Billy Nick as manager. Ridiculous. The guy is under 50 I guess, and should have have said 'my greatest XI' because his side is nowhere near Spurs greatest XI. Here's my XI for what it's worth Jennings; Perryman England King Knowles; Hoddle Mackay Gazza; Jones Klinsmann Greaves.
QPR – Tottenham 1982 FA Cup Final by ALEXANDER NETHERTON on OCTOBER 30, 2011 As the two teams meet today, what better way to whet the appetite than to look back at their 1982 Wembley meetings – not a classic FA Cup final, but an epic of sorts. The matter was settled after three and a half hours of football between the sides. Blimey. http://thefcf.co.uk/2011/10/30/qpr-tottenham-1982-fa-cup-final/
