Sky Sports said that the Prem striker Leeds were after was Fast Eddie but says he is about to sign a new deal with Arsenal now
Phil Hay obviously bored: “Whether Phillips stays at Leeds or not, the club have eyes on other central midfielders,” he wrote. “They made enquiries about Manchester United’s James Garner in the second half of the season and Garner’s stock has risen during a promotion year on loan with Nottingham Forest. “They have an existing interest in Lewis O’Brien, part of the Huddersfield Town side who lost to Forest in Sunday’s Championship play-off final. Leeds refused to stretch to Huddersfield’s asking price for O’Brien a year ago but they have continued to monitor him and he would fit an area of the squad where resources at Elland Road still look thin.”
City are looking to offload Zinchenko, now there’s a player that would solve a lot of our problems. If we absolutely have to sell Phillips to them, we could do worse than negotiate getting him at a reduced fee as part of the deal.
Nope can't see that being true. No way they would transfer the lad out under the current set of circumstances.

If we're off for some oldies id take Ben Foster and Milner for a year each. Foster would give us a more secure back up while we see how Klaesson develops. It sounds like he wants to go somewhere he can be 2nd choice and focus on transitioning to coaching. Milner could do a job for a year and let us focus our spending elsewhere until next year.
Milner would be great for experience and well needed cover at LB and in midfield if needed with Forshaw always being injured and the Dallas situation. It also doesn’t look like we’re in for another LB so we might be relying on Firpo and if he has a few stinkers it’d be nice knowing we have suitable backup in Milner to take over if Firpo continues to flop. It’s a yes from me.
