Bruno Guimaraes' agent Alexis Malalvolta says that part of the club's ambitious plans shared with the Brazil star included a push for the Champions League places - next season.

Malalvolta, speaking to Tutto sport, said: "He has always been very motivated to accept challenges, he never backs down. "Bruno is delighted with the choice made; he feels good.

"His goal was clear from the start: to help the team get out of the relegation zone and take them to the Champions League next season. And, why not, try to win the Premier League.

"He has already made it clear in his interviews that he went to Newcastle to be a legend like Alan Shearer. He wants to leave his name in the history of the club."

Credit to Eddie too for not just chucking him in from Game 1. Remember he spent a few games on the bench? Probably a big part of why he’s settled in so well

A quote from Bruno whose in South Korea to play for Brazil. He's an amazing guy.

Currently in South Korea preparing to take part in Brazil’s upcoming game Bruno Guimarães had a word with the media about his rise at the national team.

“It was one of the hardest decisions of my life, I think I went about four days without sleep. I’m not going to lie, I was afraid, yes,” said Bruno Guimarães (via Globo Esporte).

“Even more so because the club was in the relegation zone. But after I got there and did my first workout, confidence went up again. After I started playing, everything started to work out, we ended up in 11th, a team that was second to last. The best decision of my life was to go to Newcastle, to the Premier League, I believe it may have been a differential in my call-ups too”

Bruno Guimarães also made a few comments about his adaptation to the Premier League and Newcastle, claiming this was the best season he’s ever had in his career.

“It’s a very difficult competition, all games are level, all teams are good. It was a very difficult decision to go to Newcastle, but I believe that for my career it was a differential. I’m very happy for my moment. In a matter of season, it was my best by far. The Premier League really is different.”

“Every game in the Premier League is difficult, there are no easy games, we see the last winning the first sometimes, it’s a very difficult championship, at a very high intensity.

“As much as I played in Ligue 1, when I went to the Premier League I felt the intensity in the first three games a lot. It’s very different, the hardest league in the world, it’s very difficult to play, but it’s the league I always wanted to be in, I think every player could play at least a year in the Premier League to see that it’s different.”

If we're not pushing for European football within 2 years, he'll be sold to a bigger club.

We haven't had a player as good as this for, what, 15-20 years?

No one in the Mike Ashley era was as good as this guy.

He can score goals, he can cross, he can pass, he's also great defensively, he can intercept and tackle.

Absolute bargain for 35m. He could be worth literally 60m.

Cabaye is the only one who comes close I think but Bruno seems a more rounded player

Cabaye was good attacking wise and the only thing Cabaye offered more of was freekicks and long shots really. Everything else Bruno is better than him, and Bruno adds way more defensively.

Is Bruno the best player we have had for over a decade.

He makes everything look so easy. He is a role model for all the young kids and they will be talking about him when they become adults.

    The catalyst for our rise.
