Sounds like a decent appointment given glowing references elsewhere and maybe just the sort of person we need....... Big responsibility but he must have the confidence that he can do this and with our youngish pool of players gives him something to work on and develope......
I'm more excited at the possible Villa youngsters he could bring with him ! They are the u21 youth champions, I'd start by getting Archer in. Looked quality on loan at Preston and obviously against us. They have a left wing back who is supposedly something special, can't recall his name but that's one position we certainly need a decent player in.
An incredible read to be honest. If he gets the job...( I will not jinx it by being more positive) it could be a fine appointment. One to keep our good players at the club, bring in some youth (from the magnificent villa youth teams perhaps), bring on our juniors. Just maybe the downward spiral we worried about ...might not happen. Feeling a lot more optimistic
Absolutely. Not sure we could ask for much better. No guarantees obviously, but Beale is just what I was hoping for.
Bloody hell, it would be a lot for him to live up to, arriving at LR with "Genius" stamped on his forehead.
I think the potential to be a great player is there, just seemed to lose his confidence. I would like to see another season of him being coached as it sounds/looked like not a lot of time was being spent coaching on the defensive side of the game
If we have to lose someone to balance the books and free up some money...Dickie is the one to lose... Dunne to me is a much more stable option. I would hope to keep Barbet... but Dickie is the one who would generate the most money. BTW... It looks as though Uncle Albert may resign for a year. And I can see him as a very useful, impact sub ...
l’m normally reserved in new appointments but if Beale gets the gig, l think he will be an excellent appointment. Here’s hoping!
I’d echo what’s been said. Is it a risk? Of course, but it’s the same with any manager, I was happy enough with Warbs considering our budget mid table obscurity is decent and I’d rather that than doing a Derby and totally overspend year on year. However he’s gone and this fella seems to be very highly rated, might be able to borrow a couple of Villa’s youngsters as well.
I’d be gutted if he suddenly changed his mind and went to Blackburn and we unveiled Tim Sherwood instead. I wish they’d hurry up and announce him so I can focus on my day.
