... a far reaching prediction thread.. So who will win the PL title between now and the end of the decade? . Will anybody break the cartel that has seen Citeh and Chelsea dominate the PL winners podium for the previous decade? Liverpool have obviously come to the table but does anyone else have any real prospects of winning it? Predictions please ... I'll go: 2022/23 Liverpool 2023/24 Manchester City 2024/25 Manchester City 2025/26 Chelsea 2026/27 Manchester City 2027/28 Manchester City 2028/29 Manchester City 2029/30 Liverpool Depressing ... but realistic...
Nearly put the Toon for the last year ... partly for bantz ... Arsenal under Arteta rather than Spurs under Conte? ... not for me ... but will be tough for anyone because the Big 3 are so far ahead in terms of squad depth and spending power ...
Man City to dominate. Liverpool will eventually make a mistake. They've been spot on for 3 or 4 years but that has to break at some point. Chelsea might scrape one if the new owners chuck a billion at it. Might take Newcastle a good few years to get there.
Totally agree with Newcastle... not only to they have to bring in quality signings, and then meld them into a team, they have to catch up with the 'Big 3' who won't be standing still in the interim ...
Every season we all start on zero points and it's impossible to predict the outcome. It only takes a few injuries to key players and teams you thought would be right at the top can be down in 7th or 8th. Maybe a manager leaves or retires like Fergie did and throws a club into disarray. Way too many variables for the next 7 years to be a forgone conclusion and like we've seen with Newcastle and Chelsea new owners will also throw their hat into the ring bringing new money with the intention of being the best.
Liverpool won't win the title or come anywhere close next year. Maybe the year after. City, I can't see the owners staying so focused on pumping money in. Look at Chelsea, he eventually got bored and stopped funding them as much and they stopped winning as much.. Impossible to predict even next year until we know transfers, etc.. even then predictions from even the most knowledgeable are incredibly wrong... But here's my shot: 22/23 City (by at least ten points over anyone else) 23/24 Liverpool 24/25 City 25/26 City 26/27 Through next ten years... Newcastle with the occasional joker thrown in from somewhere else.
Really? 2011/12 Manchester City 2012/13 Manchester United 2013/14 Manchester City 2014/15 Chelsea 2015/16 Leicester City 2016/17 Chelsea 2017/18 Manchester City 2018/19 Manchester City 2019/20 Liverpool 2020/21 Manchester City 2021/22 Manchester City ... now about those variables ..
In 2012 you'd sound a fool if you said United wouldnt win again in the next decade. In 2010 you'd sound like a fool if you said Liverpool would win in that decade. In 2016 you'd sound like a fool if you said Chelsea wouldn't win again in the next decade (now looks likely). It's easier to spot who was dominating what era when looking backwards not when looking into the future.
Without knowing transfers. City United (assuming they get Nunez and Ten Ten is as good as I think) Chelsea or Liverpool
So with one acquisition you can see United finishing above Liverpool? If you see a long dark tunnel, stay away from the light ...
