    Good news....

Everton manager Frank Lampard has been fined £30,000 by the Football Association for his comments after a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool in April.

Lampard was angered that Stuart Attwell did not award a penalty for a challenge on Anthony Gordon by Joel Matip.

Post match, he suggested a penalty would have been given if the challenge had been made on a Liverpool player.

The FA said Lampard breached FA rule E3 "in relation to media comments proven during a personal hearing".

The Toffees contacted the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) after the Merseyside derby to query why the challenge on Gordon was not reviewed further.

With the game goalless, forward Gordon went over in the area following a challenge by Liverpool defender Matip.

Eight minutes after the incident Andy Robertson scored Liverpool's opener with Divock Origi sealing the 2-0 win.

"It was a penalty, you don't get them at Anfield," Lampard said after the match.

"If that was Mohamed Salah at the Kop end, I think [the referee] gives that. It was a foul on Anthony."

Take your point but to answer your question I guess its because they played him in the cup sides, both of which they won and he scored 7 in 9. Despite not being a striker. And he gets cut some slack for not knocking salah, mane, firmino, jota and diaz out of the side. Plenty of people like Origi too, who rarely saw daylight.

He's maybe a bit lightweight for the prem, but he passes the eye test for many when he plays.

    Ah do you mean the FA Cup where he played;

    Qtr Final 26 mins
    Semi Final Not in squad
    Final Not in Squad

You mean that Cup compettition ?

If he was a regular off the bench for Liverpool then fair enough but 88 mins over a whole season (from the bench) just doesn't cut it I'm afraid. The reason for that we'd have to ask Klopp, but there will be a reason and I'm not sure I'd want to spend £10/15M plus 4 years wages to find out what it is.

And it only took them 6 weeks to arrive at that decision.

Who was the player of ours that criticized the referee in his post match TV interview and received an immediate one game ban ?

Might have been Pontus but not 100% sure it was him.

Agree. They paid 7 million for him.

Anything over 10 million and they've had our pants down.

I mean exactly what I said. That he scored goals when he was played. Think we already established he was down the food chain, You asked why people might rate him, I gave an answer why. Didn’t say I was filling my sock over him personally.

He’s played for marsch before so he knows him - and is probably a better judge than a few internet warriors second guessing.

But continue debating with yourself the significance of what minutes of what match he played if it makes you feel good. I’d already said you had a point.<cheers>

If they paid 7 million for him and hardly played him for whatever reason, how has that increased his value? If we’re in for him, we should pay them what they paid or less in my book.

Minamino scored 42 goals for RBS in 130 odd games and had a 32% strike rate for them, plus a shed load of assists for Haaland. His price will increase because he has medals and has played in the Prem for Southampton as well as Li erpool. Yeah I know but this is how shyt works. His Liverpool move has really been a disaster because hardly played. Klopp bought Jota and he has been great, he also bout the kid from Benfica and he has also been great. Mnamno needs to move to prove himself again.

his strike rate for RBS is pretty good when you think most of it was not as a No9

didn’t set the world on fire at Southampton I think… which his harder to defend with the players there preferred over him… and gives credence to the doubters! I’m on the fence with him, always looked a player when I’ve seen him, so you’d like to think we could reignite his career. Truth is though that More talented players whose careers stall tend to fade into obcscurity than ‘turn it around’.

The release clause in his contract was 7 million. That was a **** up by Salzburg. However he only had 6 months left on his contract I believe.

All the linked players are underwhelming so far, I hope Aaronson is good but always a worry when nobody else is in for them

Kid's childminder's son watches a lot of World football and he says Aaronson is a really good player.

Don't know much about Aaronson myself but after watching a good amount of clips he looks to be able to thread a good ball through defences. Looks nippy but a bit lightweight.

The one thing that concerns me is that he does everything at 100 mph. It looks a bit panicky and rushed. Suppose we will just have to wait and see.

If we'd signed the lad in January I'd have been pleased but now it's the summer and our transfer war chest should be something approaching £100M it's to be hoped we can do better.

If we can't, then yes we should take a punt on him.

What do you think Jammy ?

Sounds like you've offered a well balanced argument both for & against and we should maybe just wait and see what happens <ok>

With both Aaronson and Minamino, there’s got to be a major jump up in quality from the Austrian league to the prem.
