OK, do you honestly believe you would hear a credible journalist or commentator say 'Massa has received a penalty for the collision. Clearly, all that moaning that Hamilton did has paid off'.

    I don't think so. That's why it's childish.

More to the point, I don't believe that the stewards would be affected by that. If that were the case then every time a driver was involved in an incident, they would just dig their heels in and moan in the hope of getting the result they wanted.

I haven't said that Hamilton didn't have a moan about some of the decisions this year, most notably Monaco, but the recent incidents have been accepted by Lewis without much complaint.

Does everyone forget that the stewards have telemetry, several angles of replay and lots of info that we, the viewers, don't have access to? Yet, when a driver who is out of favour with some fans is involved in an incident suddenly they know better than the stewards!

Its not just this year, he is simply terrible every year. Last year, he had perfect reliability (unlike Vettel) and still lost. In the best car.

I believe Button can do this, hes gaining over a second per lap and Vettel will have no defence on the long straight

Is Senna "doing a sauber" i think he's only pitted once. Agonisingly slow in the last few laps for him then.

Ok I was not aware we had to speak like journalist on an internet forum. I will up my quality levels from here on out.

First and foremost I know because this involves Hamilton I will be branded a hater and an attack on Hamilton and whatnot but it is not. But because Hamilton has made much more of a deal about his penalties than other drivers and the media always blows eveything out of proportion regarding Hamilton, that could easily weigh on steward's minds. In my opinioin I can't see why Massa would get a penalty for the incident so an explanation from the stewards on what they saw that indicated a penalty for Massa would be good.

Explanation must be the same as everyone gave for Hamilton getting his Singapore penalty. There was unintentional contact between two drivers and as one came off worse than the other they have to even it out.

    Good enough?

Other than that I can;t see why a penalty was required either here or at Singapore. But both drivers have now had penalties for incidents that didn't warrant them, and in my view as it always seems to be those two drivers who collide, blame must surely start to be apportioned fairly. Can it always be one drivers fault all the time?

Anyone get the feeling Vettel was cruising?

Everyone may as well pack up and not bother turning up until 2012!

Whilst I appreciate your strength of feeling, I don't believe that being sarcastic adds any weight to your argument. I also believe that my comment was fairly obvious and clear in it's intention. However, I will elaborate further so that there won't be any further misunderstanding.

The reference to a 'credible journalist' (note the bold highlighting) was meant to illustrate that people who work in the industry and who are generally considered to be highly respected for their knowledge would not stoop to such a comment.

I certainly agree that further explanation from the stewards whenever a penalty is issued would certainly help bridge the gap in understanding between them and the fans. I imagine that the teams and drivers are offered explanations should they ever ask for them from the stewards. However, perhaps someone can enlighten me as to whether this is the case or not?

In this case, I certainly am of the opinion that it was a close call. However, I believe Hamilton got his wheel far enough up the side of Massa's car that he could claim he had the corner. Clearly you do not. One would imagine that the stewards would look at replays, angles etc to decide, no?

ha ha ha, BBC website from a text :-

"Hamilton should have got the penalty, why have the BBC not published anything on their website which concurs with this opinion? Seems a bit biased towards the British driver."

Becuase it was deemed not to be his fault!?

no corner is 'one at a time', every corner is an overtaking opportunity if the driver in front is asleep enough to leave the door wide open, which it looked like Massa did. I'm pretty harsh on Hamilton when he's in the wrong, but for me this was either a race incident (which I thought it was) or it was Massa's fault, Hamilton didn't drive into Massa, Massa turned into Hamilton.

As to the rest, yet another great drive for Seb & Button, Vettels race was uneventful, which is really what you want when you're at the front. Rosberg needs to look at his career and decide if he wants to be something other then Schumacher & Daddy Brawns sacrificial lamb for another season, I don't think he'll ever get a fair roll of the dice, even when he was tearing MS a new on last year they were developing it for Schumacher. Torro rosso did well, with Alguersuari putting in another solid point scoring driven, Di Resta beaten by the seemingly unwanted Sutil, again. Another good drive from Alonso, and another poor one from Webber, which is no surprise to me. Senna drove a good race today but was left a sitting duck when his KERS failed early in the race And Perez sneaking it into the point.
not the most exciting race ever, but once again Massa and Hamilton provide the main talking point.

nice replay of the incident, Eddie (and the stewards) called it right, I thought it was probably a racing indident at first, but seeing that it's pretty obvious Massa was totally in the wrong. Massa is a very dirty driver, and has made many questionable moves this season, any sympathy for his accident has long gone with his on track antics this season.

Vettel, already with the fastest lap, sets a new fastest lap on the final lap when his team tell him to "bring it home". Very immature.

So Button needs 13 points to guarentee a win over Hamilton, or if he (ham) doesnt win again, he's beaten him :) Maybe that will make him better.
