Will the "average club" be getting 40k every week?

To be fair, been saying this for months now. KLD and his advisors aren't daft

Something like that. We are already nailed on for a minimum of 35k once you add in corporates, away fans and walk-up tickets. Won't take many good performances to get us topping 40k

As I've said elsewhere, If I was KLD I'd be a right ****house with it.

Put money in to upgrade the directors toilets to solid gold, here's my 10million, where's your share?.

Club needs a plane for away games, here's my £20million where's your share?

The journalist I occasionally get to speak to said an interesting thing about all this.

He reckons the smart clubs, us included, have an opportunity to 'carpet bag' their fellow clubs. It may not be kind but it's fair in business and we can tempt people if the club is attractive, we already have a good infrastructure and the players love playing for our support ... something that hasn't always been the case but we need to build on that.

It's obvious we're a better career option than the likes of Cardiff, Derby, Reading, etc, because they're unstable. We can pay lower wages because we can guarantee employment and offer some kind of vision for the future. Good players, who want a well run club, will be tempted by SAFC.

Mercenaries aren't what we need for our club, we need players who are ambitious and willing to fit into our style ...

... now then, I wonder who Cardiff have who we could use :emoticon-0105-wink:

The run under Alex Neil certainly comes close to beating it in terms of building optimism that we might have the right bloke as manager for once!

That's the thing about that time under Sam Allardyce it was more we could see we had the right bloke to get the best out of the team we had, things behind the scenes hadn't been improved and like I have said before by the summer transfer window it was obvious he wasn't happy with the backing or lack of backing he was getting and I honestly believe he would have walked away anyway. He did an interview that for me was his last shot across the bows to the board and simultaneously laying the groundwork for him chucking his resignation in if they didn't back him.

With Neil he seems to be fantastic at getting the best out of what he has got. Sam Allardyce arguably found success off the back of signing the 3 k's and if I remember he wasn't really playing Defoe in the right position at first and Defoe being the player he was forced himself back into his plans! Alex Neil didn't get the chance to sign his own players.

Then on top of that we have things going on behind the scenes to improve the club. Even the pitch being sorted halfway through the season is a great sign of the club being run right. Then we have the quick turn around into contract offers, pre-season arrangements all sorted and announced early.

I think we are currently in a place to be the most optimistic we have been in a very very long time!

During that crunch period we barely conceded, scored every time we played and were never 'backs to the wall'. We also fought back in games like Sheff Wed away and were always likely to score late on.

I was so pleased we didn't have to see other supporters cheer a goal against us at Wembley ...

... I know it may seem petty but errr, I don't care <laugh>

whilst it was still only 1-0 at Wembley and as time went on, I honestly thought that the "till the end" hashtag was going to bite us square on the arse, as Akinfenwa knocked one in off his tits

Looked a certain goal when it went over his head to a man completely free. Young Patto had other ideas! Looks very assured for his age imo.

We are a very attractive proposition for any prospective investors, if they were at Wembley they will more than certainly have been blown away by the scenes.
KLD just gets it and I really want him to see it through, he was proud as punch last week and rightly so, all those decisions he made paid off and that must feel pretty good at the moment. How much investment would we really need to make a push for the play offs again ?? I honestly dont know, I am still celebrating promotion in truth, I keep telling the kids to make the most of it because next season could be a slog, if this investment comes off it could actually be the total opposite. When that stadium is bouncing there is no other place I would rather be, I drove back from London last week with tears in my eyes and havent been able to stop smiling since.

was all in slow motion as well wasn't it. was one of those moment where you knew he was going to miss its before he did. I felt for him as he's been fantastic. Good old Patto saving his Ozzie buddy.
