I was going to love football this season - we were going to run away with the league. It was going to be like our season in L1 only better because we were going up to the Prem at the end of it. Still on the bright side - Even though we lost yesterday, even though we have an embarrassing debacle going on about our vacant managers position, I had a great day out! Picked up by my mates just before 9.00, went to the cafe and devoured the "medium" breakfast, knocked a couple of tins of Saturday juice down me on the way, found a great parking spot a minutes walk from Upton Park - Went in a boozer called the (can't remember - Looked a bit like the Queen Vic and began with a D) and had a right old laugh with my mates. Maybe my footballs not so bad after all
The pub was called the denmark mate! I was in there aswell and yes it was a great day out.. Beckford deffo dropped after that performance. More stuff like the 2nd half and we will be ok...stick with em
If you didn't go into a new season expecting automatic promotion & been a bit more realistic,if you'd shown a little more humility when conversing with fans of other clubs, then maybe you'd be enjoying the season more. Surely deep down you knew that despite Leicester's new found wealth you had actually found your level in this division,& that by telling all & sundry you'd walk the league was only going to rebound on you sooner rather than later. Try being more humble, accept you're competing against teams of equal if not more ability,& you might start enjoying it again.
Leedsinessex... Im 38 u daft twat. Do not tell me (us) how to support our team.. Now **** of back to your own crappy page eh
Essex, maybe you don't understand the article - My football is about more than the results, its about more than the performance - it's about the day out, its about the craic - It's what I do on a Saturday (far better than a midweek game) But yes, winning would be nice too Oh and Colly, yes The Denmark Beckford is our player so we need to do something with him, that may be a stretch on loan at a L1 side or a few games out of the match day squad to demonstrate that being a passenger is not an option
I think we have to hope that the new manager can get Beckford playing to the best of his ability because if he can, then we'll have a very capable striker but if he can't and he carries on playing like he did yesterday, then we have a problem on our hands.
Beckford is a goalscorers and just will take him time to settle. It took him time to settle at both Leeds and Everton
I never want to hear a Leeds fan talking about humility again. One of the most hypocritical posts I've ever read.
Glad you had a good day out at the Boleyn. Hope you don't mind me posting on here but I thought your team played well yesterday, with a few exceptions. Beckford needs to be sorted out, I was worried about him pre-match but he was, frankly, useless. Hopefully your new manager can bring out his obvious talent, and he also needs to stop hitting the floor every 5 minutes!!. I thought Peltier and St Ledger had a dodgy game, don't know what they're like on average though. Nugent should have netted in the dying minute. King's second goal was a scorcher of a volley, lovely bit of footwork and he was constantly dropping his marker. Very impressive player. Good delivery by Wellens throughout the whole game.
It's fair to say we are very unhappy with Bekford, being out of form is one thing but not trying is unacceptable. He's got a lot of work to do to win over the Leicester fans. St Ledger's come in for a bit of stick so far, some fair, some unfair. If Matt Mills wasn't suspened he wouldn't be playing. From the highlights Peltier did look to have a bad game but he's been one of our better performers so far. I don't think anyone's surprised to see you in second, seems you've picked up a good player in Baldock too
I had my eye on Peltier most of the game and he did not have a good one, that's why I asked how he was usually. Beckford stood around for the first half, literally. One of your other players, I couldn't see who, was shouting at him to move, we could all hear him. I think it's a real shame when an obviously talented player seems not to give a ****. Sam is like a little piston, quick, sharp and doesn't give up, one of BFS's better signings. As a life long Iron I don't take anything for granted and, unlike some deluded WHU fans, know we are in this League because we were **** last season. Hopefully we will go up but this League is so close to call, it will go to the last day.
Pelts has done well this season. He has held done the shirt with John Pantsil also here. Plus we had the best right back in the league by a country mile last season in Kyle Naughton so Peltier had big boots to fill and he is doing a very good job of it. No one will be more disappointed then him with the first goal and i heard he told Rob Green to **** off at the end because he will trying to piss the City fans off
Agree with you about Naughton. I'm a front row seson ticket holder not far from where the away fans are and all through the match your fans shouted, 'You're shiiiiiit, ha ha ha,' EVERY time Green touched the ball but I'd be surprised if he bad mouthed them. Naughty if he did as he should have a thicker skin!!!. My comment on Peltier wasn't derogatory, he played badly yesterday.
The Leicester fans do that to EVERY goalkeeper when they're taking a goal kick and have done for as long as I remember. If Green has taken it personally, then he's got problems. According to Radio Leicester, he did taunt the fans after the match - I'm not sure if it was words or gestures, but something happened.
Remember last season with Paddy Kenny? We sang things like 'Kenny is a Druggie' and 'Kenny, light me up' That ended up with him celebrating infront of us. Yesterday a mate said we chanted 'You'll never play for England again' They get paid enough, they should be able to take that on the chin.
I didn't see Greeno make any gestures, and I would say if I did. All away fans shout at Green, all over his England mistake, but your fans were the worst. He still should not have reacted to your fans, even though it was his 1st game back after surgery.
