I've missed the headlines over the last couple of weeks due to my hols, so bit puzzled by this 'mystery' forward story. Wouldn't mind Che Adams if it is him, as he's as capable as Bamford. I would have thought we might be going for Nketiah - have there been headlines to suggest that he's staying put or going elsewhere?
And he'll spend the rest of his career always on the periphery because Arsenal can and will sign better. The reason he doesn't want to leave is because he would have to work really hard at a mid table club who create half the chances that Arsenal do. Don't blame the lad as no one wants to take a step down but ultimately he will have to. Put Joffy up front for the Arse and he'd match anything that Eddie can do.
Correct about all his attributes but that season for Birmingham was his only decent goal haul. I guess that's why he will be available for 'only' 20mill or so.
Exactly and if there was a PL striker available who scores more than Che Adams then he'd be way out of our price range. Under Bielsa we were more than the sum of our parts and it's that kind of alchemy that Orta and Jesse have to try and concoct again but at the highest level this time.
wouldn’t argue with that… typically I’d expect them to go younger - someone perhaps higher risk but with a bigger upside. But maybe they think they have the up and comer with joffy and that Adams is a safe bet. or it could be we’re not interested in him at all… and it’s Tyler Adams we were after.
Broja been mentioned but hes the same age as Joffy and the only difference is Broja is a unit able to hold the ball up as well as score goals. Joffy smaller, more mobile and will always create something and score goals. For me why look at a kid the same age as Joffy if you haven't evaluated the kid properly. Mind you maybe he has and decided Broja suits us better than Joffy so Joffy will be moved on?
I've only seen him in bits and pieces but he plays similar position to Phillips more often as a holding player. Phillips doesn't get assists or goals either in that role.
Think we’re all agreed that a couple more midfield players available last season would have seen us not in danger. Doesn't really matter if they were not as good as Kalvin, we just needed bodies, so that fewer square pegs used, if we bring in a couple of O’Brians we are much better off this coming season? Aaronson is already an upgrade on Klich too. If we lose Klich and Forshaw fine, but must have replacements
I'm hoping KP and Aaronson play like KP and Rice did for England - one AM and one DM. KP and Rice seemed to know where the other was and when to both go DM and occasionally when KP could push up too.
Aaronson looks like a 10 to me. Hopefully takes over the Rodrigo role but actually finds his own teammates with passes now and again.
my original comment was an attempted joke at journos mixing up their Adams’. Che is a striker, Tyler a dm.
