That is my take on it. KLD has brought an awful lot to it and also one massive ingredient and that is luck. If we hadn't of got promoted then it would have been seen as a failure with all of the problems about the club shop not being open and the ticket office issues being thrown at the club. The promotion has been fantastic but masked an awful lot of issues off the field that need a resolution. I have no doubt a lot of these issues are due to SD and CM still being on the scene and not being prepared to put their hands in their pockets.
If we can get the off the field things sorted quickly then the future is good but there needs to be an awful lot of things put right commercially with sponsorships, kit deals etc being top of the priority list. One thing I noticed last week was the number of retro shirts and shirts from the last 5 seasons but not loads of this season shirts. This is solely down to the lack of availability of a shop to buy them in. Its criminal that a now championship club has one retail store to buy a shirt in. Nothing in what should be our heartlands of County Durham etc.

I know I'm playing the 'idle speculation game' again but that's in line with Wheatsheaf saying he's hearing different things on the buyer, but also the Nixon one about maybe buying for a family member or something. It's even in line with Wheatsheaf's 'not BlackRock the company' as leaves open the father in law who just works there?.

I can't see KLD doing a 51-49 thing within anyone except a family member or similar, and why would INOES (or anyone that works for them) buy in at 49%?

It took months when Dell lot were checking pre pandemic. I'm not sure why covid restrictions would stop due diligence being done tbh . Surely things can be checking electronically etc with people who can work from home?

that was gonna be my point.

for all we know due diligence started back in January. The fact things have moved so quickly upon our promotion suggests that most of the discussions had already taken place contigent on promotion

I think it's been going on a while. Still go back to that deal I thought would be announced but it wasn't. Who knows. May have moved on a bit since then. I get the impression that this was in the works a while ago. So don't think DD is starting 3 days ago etc.

For all we know KLD went into this, initially, with agreements in place depending on various scenarios.

Just as when a club agrees a price at which another club can trigger a release clause with a player.

KLD doesn't look like an impulsive spur of the moment type and, tbh, he's surrounded by lawyers and advisors.

I've always believed he had a plan, for the minority shareholders, all along ...

... if now isn't the time to execute it I'll be very surprised.
If you come on for gossip that's great ...

... whether you believe it or not is a personal choice.

I don't believe everything everyone tells me but that's because they're just passing on what they've heard. That's usually from ex-players or media people so, although they're genuine and connected, it doesn't mean they've been correctly informed.

If they tell me something that doesn't come off I don't go back to them ranting about duff info ...

... something a few people may consider.
