I don’t think it was a case of them snoozing, they offered him a contact he preferred to come here, we may well find Klose or Cundy do similar, that’s football.

SO FAR there has been very little transfer activity in most of the divisions, the odd team have lost quite a few and others topped up a few but generally most teams are waiting for the usual "holiday period to end!

BCFC seems to be at par with wage bill .. so no large input from a sale, yet, and no fee to paid out, yet, [ although one can say that 2 free transfers have probably cost the agents fee's etc's based on a " compromised value " maybe as much as £4-450k ]

so next stage must be to set up replacements for likely transfer out ... and ensure we get them!

who are the 4 ... Palmer seems to be one? ........ Wells has been sort of "kept just in case" .... Taylor -Moore? Vyner? ??????

Let's hope so! Although different players react well to certain managers, it's not a given that he will perform as well for a new club as he did for Luton, the same is it doesn't mean a player who leaves us won't be good elsewhere - look at Henri Lansbury. I thought he was ok/average for us, others were far less complimentary, but he went to Luton and played a starring role in getting them to the Play-Offs.

Naismith has been quoted as saying 'he joining the best manager in the Championship'.
Think he's a great signing and on a 'free' as well.

I think/hope he will be as well. He fits the bill in terms of his physicality and has 18 months of Championship experience which will be crucial with other lesser experienced players in the squad.

Nige is up there no doubt about it-Naismith said he is the best manger in the championship-just need to see his squad develop next season. Then the doubters can judge him fairly.Hopefully next season will see improvements and the following season even more improvements.

The 'doubters' are judging him based on the last 18 months. I (unlike you and others) always want City's manager to do well whoever they are, but there is no way in the world the last 2 seasons have been good enough, or at the level, we had become used to. You can cry me a river over no money blah, blah, blah, but the reality is it has been the same for every club in the Championship, except those on PL parachute payments, yet we have finished 19th & 17th respectively the last 2 seasons. If next year NP turns it around then great, if not, history at our club shows he will be headed out the door. He stated 3 seasons to get to the play-offs, he is halfway through and finished 17th. Not an impossible task, look at Huddersfield last season, but it's a big ask from where we are right now.

The last time a similar clear out happened we were relegated, so far so good , but I agree next season we have to “kick on”

I’ll judge Pearson on what he delivers. Not much to-date - but I’m encouraged by the Naismith signing and quite excited about the coming season.

We can sign all the players we want but if they are wasters like so many others then what is the point. I don't think Pearson tolerates under achievers on any level and let's hope his dealings will bring more consistency and effort to what was a poor squad that never looked comfortable in their own shoes. The two recent signings look good on paper, and the bank balance, but as you say bcfcred the proof is in the pudding and we need to be up and running from day one of next season and anything other than a better points scenario may be followed by the doubters screaming from the rooftops. Nigel knows the stakes and the big question will be is he up to the task and I for one hope he is capable of turning around a less than stellar outfit but time alone will tell the story.

I think we all knew the focus was defensive-minded players for this season, and this backs it up. Some good options on this list (on paper at least).

Inver, I agree, we can sign all the players we want, but if the coaching isn't good enough (and I'm not sure it is at present) then players will become disinterested and form and motivation for the cause drops. That rests with the manager, and for me, the coaching hasn't been right lately. Address both of these and we have a very good chance to have a good season. You can't always lay all of the blame on the players.

NP says it’s due to some players Attitude, something he can’t be blamed for as he had no hand in signing them, judge him this season based on HIS signings, there can be no excuse then.
