Thiago for me, misplaced passes. Maybe we should have started Keita.

TAA, thiago, Hendo, Salah, diaz were all poor. None worse than the other. TAA didn’t do anything wrong but was off the boil going forward.

Rest had zero impact on the game

Diaz had his first half ruined by absolutely no one being able to pass him the ball

Onwards and Upwards for next season. What a ****ing team we have and we will only get better.

Victims of our own success - our attack looked fatigued for some time but not surprised given the amount of football they’ve played.

We will be back stronger and sharper

Its no surprise we've sack off the domestic cups in the past few seasons. Just too many games, not mention the African cup adding more.

Yep, it caught up with us in the end. But even then, we still managed to fight to the very end. We were the better team vs Real, and we were 15 mins from winning the title. Incredible achievement if you ask me

IMO the ACON hurt more than we let on but so did bobby and jota injuries.

Jota didn't look right for one moment after he got that knock. never got the form back. Has never linked with diaz well.

Bobby came in and gave us a bit then was gone again and imo we needed him to get the rests in

I do think with 5 players plus the rubbish minime and origi we propelled ourselves from also rans to a genuine title chase and 2 trophies.

the lesson needs to be learned in CM as well.

Depth matters and really helped a LOT.

GK: really good run by kelleher in league cup.
RB: this was an issue. IMO trent was gone. i think he's played absolutely pants for 2 months but you are the worst i nthe world if you say it.
LB: tsimikas was great. really helped robertson
    RCB: great depth there
LCB: konate did well covering vvd who came back to it.
No 6: real depth issue. we are filling in. we get away with it quite a bit
LCM: real issue Thiago propelled us on but theres no real option otherwise
RCM: theres options but theres a reason henderson started.
RW: again no real cover of competition. jota over there doesn't work. ox played a few there.
CF: take your pcik of 3 or 4.
LW: again massive improvement with diaz coming in 3 or 4 to cover it.

    The list is obvious.

    RB, No 6, LCM/no8, RW.

4 signings to really again improve us and its imo a 1 in one out mentality.

Williams out. Someone in... who .. theres probabaly 50 lads like tsimikas just waiting a chance
Milner out. someone in. who? for no 6 imo its imprtant we can find someone who'd got the brains for it. we need to be more flexible in set up and going 4231 with a set up might be important going frward.
Ox out, minime out, origi out. RW in?

we probably could add another striker tbh.

"back 6" are well sorted. its the two no 8s and the front 3 that we need to think about. Diaz and jota are two. salah is talking like hes a third so we want a fit thiago plus one and then genuine competition.

Note that mane can either **** hismelf or sign now.

I feel Liverpool.would have won oñe of CL or PL.if they had gone out of the Caribou Cup at an early stage. Winning that competition does nothing for the status of Liverpool, Manchester City or United or Chelsea. Let the minnows of the PL.compete for it. And take away the European qualifying place as well.

Yeah lesgue cup is early season. Only messed with few group stages of CL. 2 legged semi is a bigger but generwlly all done and dusted by end of Feb when CL starts again in March and the title run in hits up.

Fa cup unfortunately falls bang in middle of the busy Xmas period and then continues to disrupt all the way through to the final (which isn’t even last game of the season so then ****s you up having to play a prem game in midweek to compensate).

Add in the international breaks!! And now we have more internationals. TAA and the rest need a break from.football, not playing matches in. June.

Some terrible stories coming out about the policing at the game. Apparently Robbo's family members were denied entry because they supposedly had fake tickets, Thiago's wife was attacked by the police which explains his disappearance just before the kick off and numerous women, children and blind fans tear gas sprayed directly in the face. After the game lots of fans mugged and slashed by groups of French Africans. No wonder the game felt so flat, imagine having to play not knowing what exactly had happened to your family members and wondering if they were actually in the ground. I hope UEFA get whatever punishment from whoever if there is such a thing or are they untouchable?

Well, sponk. Stopped messaging on this site at half time when the uber trolls on the Prem board were jizzing themselves over another Hillsborough, but I wanted to come on at halftime to say I think we'd blown it: 40 minutes of dominance, then 5 minutes of chaos. Up until then, I didn't think Madrid were in it- Benzema was quiet, and Konate was treating Vinicius with contempt. But then... well, I will go to my grave saying that was a goal - surely if Fab is intending to play the ball, it doesn't matter which leg it eventually comes off? That said, we should have been two or three ahead by then, and apart from Coutois being brilliant, we had countless situations when the right pass was needed and Trent, in particular, overhit or underhit the ball.

Second half saw a different Madrid, but even then, we had opportunities. But there you go. And sorry - no scapegoats like Karius, but I have to say Keita simply doesn't belong at this level.

As to the issues - well I knew at halftime, and was trying to relay this on the Prem, that the initial line of fans turning up late was bollocks - we had friends and relatives saying they'd got there THREE hours before kick-off, and the local sewer rats were robbing and scaling the fences: all that was known by then already, but the narrative was there already - Heysel again. But as to the industrial scale forged tickets - I know four people who had legitimate tickets, one a mate here in York, who was initially turned back for having a forget ticket (it wasn't, of course). One never got in at all.

But the Daily Mail - I didn't read others - first of all, fans turning up late, then a gate had been forced (the French now admit they opened it), and 'Thousands of forged tickets' - all on the night, even before the match had finished. I dread to think about what the Sun is saying, but I have to admit, I've been pleased that the Times has been challenging that narrative. Seems that scanners simply weren't working - whereas Madrid used e-tickets. Maybe that is a cause for saying no more paper tickets? That said, didn't E-tickets cause loads of problems for the Euro final last year?

Anyhow - at the parade yesterday at Old Swan yesterday. I thought there was even more there than three years ago when the official figure was 750k, but they're saying it was 600k yesterday, which is still ****ing amazing. Got to laugh at the trolls who said nobody would turn up after the defeat in Paris - then squawked about having a parade for winning two cups! Onwards and upwards. YNWA. :emoticon-0165-muscl

In all fairness though, for the first time since Klopp has been here, we had such favourable, City-type draws that we could play scratch sides right up until the semis, when, ironically, City played a scratch side themselves. Bottom line is though, that we dropped 4 points from early January to the end of the season. I don't know what else we could have done there. And we rightly rested players for the Villa, Southampton and Wolves games, but still won, so I really don't think the cups caused it. Would have been interesting had City not been knocked out be Madrid in the semis though - means they'd have had our dilemma in the last few weeks, and may well have dropped more points?
