Guess it the problem the PL have created, clubs up up & risk the lot to stay there, or be sensible & hope they stay there. We will never see what we had before in terms of competition in this country as the PL would quite happily have fixed top 8 spots The really stupid thing is.....what they don't get is the whole world watches the PL because it's competitive, the bottom team can beat the top.....yet the aim to creat a device that certain clubs cannot break into the top group It's wrong......& They will spoil the best/ only competitive league in the world
My only concern is for the progress of our club mate. I really couldnt care less who said what or when. I'm not interested in a forum war, that would be infantile ... ... and if they start I'll get them at playtime
Best way mate. There's a choice between sitting back and waiting ... ... or enjoying a bit of harmless gossip and speculation. I was messaged by two lads off here before KLD appeared. They told me things that came true so I naturally believe and trust them now. One, who remains a total stranger, told me the name of the family although tbf didn't name Kyril specifically. The other told me the date it would be announced and the share split. I've now met the second lad, in London last Saturday, so he's no longer a stranger. He told me Embleton would be playing, for Clarke, before it was announced and I doubt many would've guessed that. So when I'm told to 'prepare for lift off' on the Sunday after the game I feel inclined to get excited ... ... but I understand why some people are reluctant based on a few vague hints.
Precisely why KLD is the key, for me. The simple fact that he is basing himself in the NE and goes to every game plus his background at Marseille, which is the most Sunderland club in France, is all the evidence I need to see. I really, really hope anything that transpires over the next few weeks includes him keeping his current role.
Really hard to get excited when Keane was all but done as manager and Poyet the same… add to that the whole Dell debacle. Not forgetting we were led to believe Kyril owned the club. Hopefully this happens.
There's lots to get excited about. We have just been promoted, contract offers to existing players in early, recruitment and backroom more professional, season starts in 9 weeks. Even if investment or owners don't come off, I can't bloody wait to get back to the SOL
Let’s just sit back and enjoy promotion and what will happen with new investment will happen, it is only a matter of time, we are too big a club to be ignored. We are in a good place just enjoy it. It’s a long time since the club has been in such good shape.
agree on that totally… was more referring to the investment. Excited for next season regardless. New investment would be even more exciting.
Of it happens great, if it doesn't so be it we will still be there in our 1,000's Personally I chose to believe it's happening and it's going to be even more fun
If I remember rightly, the current wolves ownership group, they bought a stake of the club, when in league one... Then full buyout once they were promoted.
I’m all in for wanting brilliant things to happen, obviously, but, I’m too long in the tooth for there not to be an element of wariness as to whether it will, until it’s signed sealed and delivered
No I don't think so and I hazard a guess that one of the reasons he didn't come is neither did he! I get the feeling he is all talk when it come to getting back into management, he has the easy life at the minute and gets paid enough he is likely to have to take a paycut to go into management. He doesn't have the cv to go in at the level he would need to not lose out on wage!
Aye this. I said last week I was going to have a break from Sunderland related social media until the window fully kicks in. Then this thread started….
