Its his postitioning and awareness combined with his sheer speed. It makes him always the first one to the ball. Great to see him get a goal today. He had been criticised somewhat unfairly on his return.
Poor Hernandez, gets flack from rivals and some united "fans" who think his game is "limited" and yet he is without a doubt the best goalscorer at united. So what if he can't dribble, who needs to dribble when your movement is so good your first touch is normally a goal.
He's a top class clinical goal scorer. He has the instinct to be in the right place at the right time - you can't teach it. **** how Liverpool need a player like that at the moment.
Hernandez is a good player, but again shows how ineffective he can be at times. The goal, he showed up and put away a good cross, but lets not forget he was unmarked 3 yards out, he SHOULD have been picked up there no doubt about that. Apart from the goal he offered little tbh and everton were unlucky not to have had a point. Hernandez and his goals are keeping you in touch with City with a little added luck of opposition not taking their cances against United, mainly Liverpool and Everton. His positioning and knack for arrivng at the right time are great, his finishing leaves a fair bit to be desired and a well played offside trap can marginalise him as we saw yesterday. All in all great player for 6m no doubt and he will get better also no doubt of that
If it wasn't for the goal Everton would have had a point. Thats why he's so fantastic. In the right place at the right time and got himself a goal turning what might have been a draw into a victory.
I laugh at fans of rival teams who say his play is very limited. All you want out of a striker is 20 goals a season, that is his job. He did it last season and will likely do it again this season. This lad is the most deadliest player in the 6 yard box in the world in my opinion and to United fans that is all that matters. He scored a lot of goals at Old Trafford last season but already he has scored at Bolton, Liverpool and Everton. All places we failed to win at last season. He doesn't seem to have second season syndrome and looks deadly everytime he is in the box. Love the lad!
I never gave a **** that Van Nistlerooy wasn't particularly skillfull or spectacular and it's the same with Hernandez,
I think he has a lot of room to improve other areas of his game. My only issue with him is I would like him to get more involved in build up play. His finishing is top class, and the reason he's always unmarked his off the ball movement is out of this world. We can all sit here and just blame it on the defenders but most of his goals are similar to that. I think he's just incredibly difficult to mark in the box. I saw a video of his goal against Liverpool in slow motion (I'll try and find it when I'm on a computer) and he seems untouchable when he's in the box. The thing I really like about Hernandez is his attitude. I think he may be a bit ticklish, but he has an attitude we all wish every professional athlete had. He's extremely humble and grateful for the opportunity he has at United. In the interview after every time he scores, he stresses the importance if it being a "team goal" an he just did his job and finished. Also I think his dribbling is underrated, he isn't the player whose going to dribble past 3 players and score like Messi, Ronaldo ect., but he has scored a few goals where he'll juke past a few defenders with one or two touches to get in a better position to shoot. His goal against argentina in the world cup is a prime example. Oh and Ruud Van Nistleroy only scored one goal outside the box in his 150+ plus goals for united.
