Unless Charles’s engine goes during the race and so long as both Ferrari’s get a good start Sainz won’t be winning tomorrow. Even if Sainz gets the lead at the start there is no way Ferrari will allow Charles not to win his home Grand Prix.
Nice to see Alonso and Norris up there especially if there is some rain about tomorrow to give us something interesting. Charles so far been excellent in all fairness
My (not very reliable) weather app is suggesting 76% chance of rain at race time tomorrow and schedules rain before and during the race. Would certainly add a little chaos wouldn’t it, though not sure it particularly helps overtaking other than people binning it!
As long as Max bins it I’ll be happy. I want Charles to win the World Championship and Ferrari to win the Constructors and Red Bull to win **** all. And hopefully next season Merc will have designed a car that can compete.
Yes the team have been a bit vocal about contract breaks! I know he has said that he needed confidence and feel to the brakes when at Renault but he hasn't said anything specific about the McL. I wonder what the issue is. Maybe it's a bit like George and Lewis. Where George is more used to driving round car issues and Lewis has almost forgotten what it's like to have a poor car - he should remember the last year or 2 at McL! I would love Danny to be really fighting to be the fastest McL, it would be great.
He gambled leaving RBR and it's failed, Norris is effectively ending his chances of getting a drive in a big team. Shame, for an aussie he was alright.
I wonder if there is a power struggle ? Seidel said his ( DR ) seat was safe , and Brown is saying it isn’t ?
If it is, I think Zak’s right. Lando has a long contract, but he must be top of all the big team’s list next time they need a driver. With McLaren seemingly keen to bring in an American driver, none of whom look like premier talents at the moment, they need to find another driver who can maximise the car.
Lando would probably be first choice replacement for Hamilton or Perez currently, maybe McLaren are preparing to tempt Piastri from Alpine? I can't see Alpine having an open seat until Alonso decides to retire, McLaren could make an offer Piastri couldn't refuse this/next season.
My unreliable weather app now tells me no rain until approx 5pm, which would be just after the race. Typical
Just had a look at some radar and some rain misses it at first before some heavy showers for an hour into the race that bubble up right around the circuit, so whether we cop any of that let’s see. One of those classic rain teases?
Pandemonium in the pit lane with people full pelt with tyre trolleys Why the **** do we need a safety car for the race start?!
