Can't really complain. Courtois played well and Madrid should have had 2 goals imo. Our midfield really needs a massive improvement and something new up top too.
We were not good enough tonight. Madrid were well rested for this we have had to battle up until last week. I think a long season has taken its toll, it has been a great season but ends on a flat note
Real shame the season ended like this with the league and CL. Would have been deserving to win one of them at least with season we’ve had but not to be. 2 trophies 92 points CL final Cant moan too much. Shows how good we are that that’s a bit of a disappointment but been an incredible season. only negative, 3 finals. 0 goals. That’s not great. And not even like we didn’t have chances. In all 3 games we had chances to win games and score goals and yet not managed to put 1 of them away
Our lads don't want to engage and run with ball. They all mostly shuffled it on tbh. It's play it on. Play it on, play it on don't take a risk yourself stuff. At one stage a blanket could have been thrown over thiago henderson and fabinho with them passing it between then under no pressure and not one wanted it to go at them You then have trent thinking his a no 10 jogging in there and being left alone cos he can't do it. No width the. Whens the last overlapping run he has made? Even the few times say Diaz or salah got it wide there was at most 1 person in the box and everyone else.miles out but they hardly beat anyone either It just felt too slow and allowed real get all set up to defend. The shame is they never really threatened and frankly vvd refused to go towards the lad with ball and retreated in and allowed him make our pen area to hit that shot cross. We really ought to be seeing extra time now but it did fell like we were just not scoring there and 0-0 or a set piece was our main avenue. Left that behind imo. Definitely feels like the team needs a refresh. Got Diaz trying to play a million mph and then Mané and Salah playing like pensioners. Midfield that can't control or dominate games either.
Need a forward who is actually a 9 imo. Suarez proves what a proper 9 and a high energy presser can be found so go find one. We just missed too many again and on this occasion a lot were actually on target which is actually unusual. A lot of the time we miss the target completely
Anyway. 92 League cup Fa cup cl final Great season to follow and enjoy. Next season feels all wrong with 6 week break for world cup.
