Carlos is 29, Coutinho 30 (in a couple of weeks). So in 2-3 years you're looking at a 32 and 33 year old - they're spending on the here and now whilst I suspect we're looking for players who will peak in 2-3 years. I don't mind if they finish a bit above us in those circumstances so long as we ourselves are improving.

As things stands currently I’d rather have Villas ‘squad’ than ours. They loaned out a player to us who was one of our key players in the team. I can’t stand Villa, ****ing hate them since we got relegated but they had a **** season and do reckon they’ll do well next.

Their form was very up and down this season, whereas once we got on the right track we were consistent. I'm not that convinced about Villa, or Gerrard.

Definitely rather have our squad, our manager and our signings.

Not convinced about either Gerrard or Lampard.

TBF Rooney looks as though he might have something about him as a manager.

Rooney possibly if he sticks it out at Derby and gets them back up next season. That's the way to prove yourself initially as a manager, in the less glamourous roles and leagues before being thrust into huge jobs.

Lampard had one average season with Derby before being thrown into the Chelsea job with next to no experience. Likewise Gerrard, who took the easy route in the mickey mouse Scottish league.

Challenging for the top 6 and a cup final.

Interesting how everyone just writes off manure, they'll be challenging top 3 next season

Oh trust me mate I’d rather have our signings & Howe. They’ve had longer spending money on their squad. They bring Danny Ings off the bench we bring on Wood.

Why? Is he not match fit? Surely Wood is starting?
