We do need another defender to add to the numbers because we're perilously short of defensive cover, though as PFT says, there's no need to replace Hobbs as we are doing fine defensively and Hobbs by all accounts was our best player today. You're allowed to not like Hobbs if you want but you can't just make stuff up. No one in our teams makes massive clangers at all, that's just completely false. I'm not even sure you can claim that's an opinion.

This bit. We've only got 5 senior defenders in the squad that we're not trying to offload due to wages (Kilbane and McShane being 6 and 7), and if we end up with just those left then we have zero cover for centreback or right back if anyone gets injured for more than a game or two.
If I'm honest I dont know this Algerian at all so it woud be stupid to compare and if you look back, I have not once made any comparisons, I just hinted that NP my be in the market for this Algerian to bring in instead of Hobbs in hopes he can improve the team. Seems HFFP feels the same and did most of the comparing yet I dont see you or others quoting his responses...Lol

Best defensive record in the league and you claim that Jack Hobbs needs replacing. Also lets not forget he is our captain, he might not be the obvious choice as he doesn't appear to be overly vocal so I'm guessing he's the character that leads by example, setting the standard for everyone to strive to reach. I think he's getting better with each game he plays and to change anything about our back five at the minute especially the central pairing would be absolutely ludicrous and bizarre.
We definitely need another defender. We only have 6 and one of them is injured. Halliche agreed a loan to Swansea but they missed the transfer deadline. Dunno anything about him.
I'm not saying we don't need another defender, I'm saying we don't need another defender to replace one of the current back 4, only for cover. Finding someone decent enough to come knowing they will be benched unless we have an injury could be a tricky task though.
