Hey Jude is a bit cringey for me, although i know why it's done. Not really bothered as long as local hero is always the pre game tune.
Yea and that's another reason it's a bit cringey as it isn't unique. Don't get me wrong i still sing along when i'm at the match but i wouldn't care if they stopped playing it. At least a Fender song would be unique as he's from the area, a fan etc.
My dad loves that song as it's what his dad, my grandad did, build the ships on the Newcastle side and he lived in Hebburn so he had to cross the river every day like the lyrics.
Loved how they played it the 1st game of our new ownership.. Had tears in my eyes... Then Wilson scored after like 30 seconds. Awesome feelings even though we lost. That song sung by the entire crowd could rival walk alone imo.. Would be absolutely awesome ... Powerful and deep routed to Newcastle.
Yee i was there, i kind of wish i want so off my face but i was, Bruce spoiled it anyway once the game started..but town before and the build up was unreal. You were there anyway if i think.
