I see then that Trueshan is to have his 'prep' for The Gold Cup at Seven Barrows. Answers on a postcard please to the usual address...

Meanwhile, anyone see Alan King's easy bumper winner on Monday - Klitschko??? This looked some prospect (and, given his moniker, is a headline writers dream) and has already attracted Cheltenham Festival quotes. Although he has Options, with a capital 'O' and could go a number of routes re the rest of the term.

Off to Sandown this evening, for what looks like a very competitive card with much scope for shirt-loss. The first handicap, where Whipmaster looks very tempting but Grey Fox offers an interesting alternative, will almost certainly set the tone for the evening's punting, but the Listed race and the Group races look tight. Hope I don't head home a chastened man. Good luck to all punting today.

Barney, funny you mention Klitschko, I was lucky enough to find him early and backed before the market found him. I thought he was so green and won so well despite of this, but it would worry me that there is something mentally weak about him that might be a quirk in the making.

Interestingly they purchased its half at one of the recent sales... they clearly thought the horse had plenty of ability, and it showed.

The 18:50 Group-3 Henry II Stakes would interest me if I was there. I cannot separate Enemy and Quickthorn, so I'd probably go for a Rev.Forecast, even though any profit would be pretty small. Best race on the card IMHO. The Johnston yard never does a thing for me, so just watch Thunderous win this one with me not jinxing it!

Barney, funny you mention Klitschko, I was lucky enough to find him early and backed before the market found him. I thought he was so green and won so well despite of this, but it would worry me that there is something mentally weak about him that might be a quirk in the making.

And did you see what the year older (born 2017) full brother made?!? 305,000 gns!!! Although he is a winning Irish pointer. Arctic Bresil to give the old boy a namecheck.

Contrast that to the 2018 brother (Klitschko, £10,000) and the 2019 sister (£23,000). Interestingly re the 3YO sister Alan King has a half-share in her.

Look Klitschko obviously falls into the, terrible cliche alert, 'could be anything' category but right now, to me, looks a potentially exciting prospect.
