Cheers mate ... Mrs RCL drives so that'll be good. Read there are dark skies so am looking forward to trying to photograph the milky way if there's a clear night or two! Mrs RCL loves a castle so I ll mention that. Mind you she studies a holiday like a student doing exams so probably already knows Where abouts in Wales fo you live if you don't mind me asking?
I loved it there...We used to stay at the Gower Heritage Centre. Once it closed to the public at night the girls could walk around on their own looking at the animals and feeding the ducks. It was lovely to be able to safely give them so much independence. Last went in 2012 ish but the girls still talk about how much they liked it there.
It's fifteen minutes from where I live, which is Mumbles more or less. We go every spring Bank Holiday weekend. We ****ed up this year as we didn't know that the BH weekend had been changed, so we've all had to take Monday off. Eighteen of us go every year. The other four families have booked 'glamping' this year and it has cost £500 for three nights!! Covid tax, right there. Doubt they'll do it next year, they're ripping us all off. In fairness though, it's an incredible site and location. I can watch my mates playing golf across the river too!
Let me know if you go, proper Welsh Street/beach food. Best breakfast I ever had. I had the breakfast roll and I've had the crab there.
If you cross the road from Gower Heritage Centre and walk along the path next to the 'river', the site is up on the top on the right, overlooking Three Cliffs. Castle and golf course on the opposite side. It's a superb beach. When the tide is right up, you can SUP along the river, which is called Pennard Pill FYI!!
Pembroke Dock is right next door to Pembroke, no real distance. In addition to Luv's recommendation, I would say one thing you have to do is go to Barafundle. One of the country's very best beaches. Couple of pubs too - the Stackpole Inn, you'll go past Stackpole to get to Barafundle. And St Govans Inn, which is at Bosherston lily ponds, which is an afternoon out itself.
Ten day trip to Wales in late Summer including Snowdon and a road trip down the west coast to Pembrokeshire. Hoping to do Greece/Egypt around October time. Might try get in a cheap one to Spain too now no jab is needed as a family member has property there.
Mrs RCL is gonna be so impressed with my "research"...****ed if I'm giving you lot credit but you do have my genuine thanks
Don't ask luv for Wales advice whatever you do. All you'll get it is a 'I dunno, better off asking Chief' - the Englishman that is.
I've already given some advice. It's not my fault that @Chief had been to every pub in Wales. Anyway if you'd have asked I'd have sorted you out with a great kebab place in Merthyr.
Never nice to find a hair in your kebab. Smelled a bit dodgy too tbf so maybe I should have taken some advice from you.
