Guess this confirms Ralph is staying. We need to start next season absolutely flying. Shame about Super Kelvin. What a player. What a man. Absolute legend for us. Thanks for everything SKD
I doubt they will sack Ralph after announcing that they’re replacing coaching staff (I would expect a Ralph replaced statement and “also so and so will move on”). So for better or worse we have another season with Ralph, I’m hoping he can turn things around. Not getting my hopes up too much but really hope he’s fired up at the start of the season.
Changes to first team coaching were long overdue, but it is sad for SKDs long relationship with the club to end. Becoming club ambassador seems the ideal solution. Wonder if he will want to continue his career in coaching though.
We're going to Austria in pre-season, playing a match against a team coached by Ralph's son. Sorry pal, you're out of luck.
Smug as you are and l am not sure that it's appropriate for a Forum Moderator to behave as such, l actually think Ralph has been very lucky, but let's see if he can use it well, which l doubt.
Think this is the right step. We've needed a better set-up behind the scenes for years now. I remember Ralph arriving with Danny Rohl on the proviso that more staff would follow suit if he secured our PL status. Well, he did and they just pushed Kelvin and Fleming into the first-team set up and made Dave a general coach and away from his GK-specific role. This should've happened years ago. What this tells us is that the ownership are also putting the players - and Ralph - on notice. They are not happy with the culture within the stagnant, stale football environment. This decision indicates that they appreciate that RH has worked under tough conditions and kept us afloat for quite some time, but now they are effectively saying: we are going to improve the staff, we are going to be able to be more mobile in the market to reshape the squad for the new season and we are going to watch what happens very closely. The World Cup break could prove very handy to us and I would well imagine that the club are planning ahead with that World Cup window as a crucial point for us to assess whether we are moving forwards, are stagnant or are continuing to backslide. It would be a pretty convenient time to change manager...
Don't see anything wrong with my comment. Maybe a bit of smugness, mostly jokey. Wasn't meant to be taken seriously. I'm not to change just because I'm a mod.
Congrats. Have you replaced anyone? Bit odd to change the moderation team without announcing it though imo.
I’d wait and see who they bring in and what experience they have before rushing out grand statements. It’s just three back room staff lost their jobs at the moment, not much to celebrate there.
Not that I'm aware of. I received a DM from Chilco 10 days ago or so asking if I would be interested in helping out. I said yes and here we are.
