the fine weather, although no where near as the fine weather of MARCH - OCTOBER 2020 ...yet! seems to have dried up the exchanges on here.. be they pro / anti or neutral on a large number of topics.
Wiz still manages to post up the latest rumours on the football side, and most welcome.
no compo's .... did try a cricket one a few seasons ago but not much, in fact think only 2 were into cricket!
been a big dissapointment for some that Boris is still at the helm, to be honest IMHO cant really see what Sue Grays investigation is going to achieve. IT has ALL been outdated by the Met investigation who have looked into "every" concievable WESTMINSTER .. incident, although only investigating . gov instances?????

Opposition "has a duty to oppose" most things .gov or .gov MP's / staff do propose, or dont do, propose be it hindsight or unworkable [ like pay everyone not willing or not in work a encouragement to stay at home and put their feet up!!!]

    world food shortage...
"The World Food Programme reaches 125 million people and buys 50% of its grain from Ukraine." Putrid is deliberately putting millions of lives at risk, but at the moment this is the small picture!!! the big picture is in 3 months time those areas of UKRAINE ABLE TO harvest its grain will have no where to put it and existing millions of tonnes will likely go to waste. hopefully these third world countries will appreciate where the death toll RUSSIA THRUST UPON THEM via starvation, came from ...........
[ the 50% is not 50% of Ukraines stock, just a part ]

noted: there is now a lot of exposure by planes "info gatherers" over the Black sea ... the past couple of weeks or so have shown the " OSPREY" on manouvres ... [ bell boeing v22 /cv22b ] also added activity from the Poseidon P8's... flights from USA Canada seem to be about 4 -6 exposed daily, also other countries using variety of cargo planes [ hercules etc ].

interesting picture ... there is about 4 or 5 and at some point someone will state that they were taken in rapid succession! Also analysis without originals would be impossible .. he could easily have been there for less than 1 or 2 minutes ... hopefully at some point this will be done and dusted ... there is plenty more important news to contend with at this sobering time. The possibility of a few million innocents, children mostly, starving to death .. war crimes ... an individual hell bent on razing a country to ash's because his week long sortie to hunt out so called nazis and free an oppressed people resulted in him getting more egg on his face than would come from the eggs in a modern day battery house .... who needs sorting ... cracks appearing??? top 2 aides now deserted him as they know the truth

John, it's a football forum and I'm just putting up the news when I find it, the season is over, the manager, staff and players have mostly buggered off to some sunny beach and the grass is growing down the gate but thanks for the keeping updated.

You’re right there is much more important things to deal with, he knows that and that’s why he should have gone ages ago, all the time wasted on reports and investigations would have been avoided. They would have been able to go on quietly in the background.

yep lack of football relies on the individual to find alternatives and the odd person or 2 to find the footballing news which is always welcome... transfers especially, especially when the wheat appears from the chaff ...

One’s a one off and obviously at a work event, the other isn’t either. The one that isn’t has got rid of others expecting them to take responsibility for their action, whilst himself will duck and dive rather than take responsibility himself.

    Dear John,
I've noticed my young Lupin and hollyhock plants are being nibbled away. I stayed up late over the weekend and went out with my torch only to find slugs and snails feasting away at my young shrubs. The snails (x 7 or 8) I threw over next door, the slugs with ages ranging from baby to great grandfather (around a dozen) I gave them the salt treament and a poke with a stick. I can't stay up late every night doing this so what would you recommend? Some of the larger slugs could be around be around 80mm in length, I haven't measured the slimy girth but i'm sure you get the picture. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Well 80mm is getting there! I also give nature a chance to take of its own! I chuck the snails over the fence 4 acre playing field.. but edges left to nature as opposed to being mowed every 5 days! Slugs slimey things but quite photogenic! I have some pics of about a dozen specimens.. ranging in colour from black to almost camo coloured... these also get catapulted over the fence, where I know hedgehogs tend to roam, [ peice of thin slightly flexible wood propels them about 10 -12 foot ].
You could use some half pint or pint plastic beer reseptacles! with about an inch + of cheap / wasted beer in. place in ground so lip is at ground level. filter beer through a discarded face mask into a spare pot and put slugs, now usually dead in bin/ compost/ or throw out to give Hedgehogs or birds a treat!

did anyone watch PMQ's and the subsequent 30 -40 minutes of Sue gray report?

There was a lot of good and bad said, a lot of contradictions and the same old spiel from the SNP LEADER who is just marking time with his repetitive comments [ been almost same for month's now ] till someone gives him anoyher 4 sheets with different writing on to read from.
Probably the most damning statement was in reply to " Sir Keir Starmer's " constant bombardment of call for BJ to resign some weeks before the Met involvement, [ and SG report ] and when the investigating of BJ by MET started made massive issues of it " PM under investigation BJ SHOULD RESIGN!! " ... BJ's answer was simply " why [ Starmer ] are you still here??? SKS face was lke a cows a** smacked with a shovel!!!

Attention was brought to the house that the constant singular tunnel vision approach by labour [ & opposition ] regarding BJ / No 10 events had robbed it of many hours of serious discussion regarding headline events of immense importance ... UKRAINE WAR/ ECONOMY/ ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS/ and bills that needed reading and passing.

Irrespective of party [ political ] inclination, one must have some respect for BJ's performance today .. yesterday I didnt know who I would vote for if GE was tomorrow, sitting on the fence today I think my legs are starting to get ready....!

in response to economy again slapped face with the shovel for SKS... when his "proposal" to tax tax tax was totally shot to bits ... this country needs to grow, which is what is happening, not end up at the end of the term with more out of work than it started with, and subsequently more debt than started with! [ allowing for such events as covid etc ]

It really is time now to put the lid on "Partygate" and concentrate on the pressing matters at hand ... economy/ Ukraine/ immigrants [ non Ukrainian and Afghan ] / addressing the power issue and getting business through parliament that really matters.

    note
Outside of the media frenzy, I have yet to come across a lot of people who [ infact none! ] who state they do not know of or who personally actually "bent " the rules... a deep search of my actions in 2020 .... did have 2 bubbles [ family] as opposed to 2 people meeting in my front garden well spaced with some drinks ... and crisps/ snacky bought bits ....

One is the Prime Minister and leader of the country who actually MADE the rule then broke them on many occasions, lied repeatedly to the Commons and the Country saying it didn’t happen. Now that he’s been found out he plans to ignore calls for him to resign and carry on regardless - onwards to the next lie no doubt.
https://news.sky.com/story/sue-gray-report-all-the-key-criticisms-of-the-government-12621059Sue Gray report: All the key criticisms of the government

The other is not in government, didn’t make the rules, doesn’t THINK he broke them on that ONE occasion but has pledged to resign if found guilty.

Don’t worry Boris - there are plenty of people for whom lying is no big deal and will support you anyway…..

put his foot in that one didnt he ... Starmer that is! [ not such a purist, he uses the probability wont get a fine to add fuel to his argument, when actually if he was honest he would have resigned x weeks ago ] "demanded before the met got involved that simply BJ should resign, then when investigating stated BJ SHOULD RESIGN ... He got the tag Capt Hindsight for forgetting what he previously stated! .. so why hasnt he kept to his word and resigned already along with his grinning 2nd in command!!!!

the met action took 12 officers and £500k to get a conclusion, they recieved? £LESS THAN 12K in fines. During that time what really serious crimes could that 12 have solved or prevented?
Economy how much is attributable to lack of discussion/ putting into practice [in £millions, ] because no parliamentary time available for discussion
how many small acts / members bills were put on shelf for another day [ parliamentary session ] because time was spent hounding BJ to resign ?

Politics is a very messy thing, aka example in our faces now! Ukraine!!! politics dictated that Nato will not protect Ukraine and risk wider danger! instead have tried to supply UKRAINE with weaponary to defend itself against an animal that has no compunction other than to destroy, and steal the livlihoods of a progressing nation because they [ he Putrid ] cant do the same for his country. Nato should set up a protectorate on the rest of UKRAINE , NO FLY ZONE OVER Odessa western Ukraine, those areas out side donbas region, and Kkev & allow ships from the free world to export its grain and goods ....
also set Belarus straight any incursion on Ukraine soil from there will get the full mite of NATO / FRIENDLY NATIONS!

More important things than a few drinks discussing business etc-i certainly would not call it a party as our left wing friends like to suggest.<laugh>

p.s what a boring party not one I would want to attend.

Whilst he’s PM this will not go away, the best way to move on and deal with the other more important issues is for him to resign, if he had an ounce of decency he’d see that, and even if for no other reason, resign.

It will keep coming up, taking valuable time that should be used to deal with more important issues. We need a PM who can be trusted and who isn’t a liar,
