I would love that to be the case, but wonder if he would see himself better suited to the recently vacated Dortmund job?

I don't think he has any love for the club so to move to us for a percentage of what he's earned since leaving seems very very unlikely

Ah balls, I didn't realise they had an opening...I mean, yes, he would. And he'd be right. So let's hope they find someone else.

I mean in terms of salary, I actually think Ralph is something like the fifth or sixth highest paid manager in the PL, right? I mean in terms of his own personal remuneration we could do it.

I just don't see that he'd see it as a feasible thing now (unless we did a mega sales job on him).

Saints was a stepping stone for Poch and we were probably more attractive when he joined than we are now.

His stock hasn’t fallen low enough for him to even consider coming back i think

Disagree. Everything he's said since leaving has indicated that he does have a lot of love for the club. I don't think he necessarily had too much love for Les Reed, but that old guard has gone. I also don't think he'll have earned huge amounts more than we have been paying Ralph, so I don't really take that argument.

What it would be is a good test of quite how ambitious Sports Republic really are, and I don't think we have quite enough in the bank there. If they did want to push for top ten and a sniff of Europe, then perhaps he could be tempted over and above another season sitting waiting for a 'big job'. I dunno. Like I say, I know it's probably pie in the sky, but I'd ask. No harm in that.

If we had a gnat's fart chance of getting Poch back, I'd drop Ralph like a stone <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Actually, hold on, why the hell wouldn't we be in for Marco Rose if he's been sacked?

Well this is exactly the thing, he can either wait for the Bayern job at some point if he stays in Germany (because there isn’t anywhere else to realistically go after Dortmund), or spend his time plying his trade elsewhere to get more experience. If he wanted to come to England, we are the only ones I can think of in the ‘middle 10’ who aren’t wholly content with their season and manager. Maybe other than Leicester perhaps.

Right now, I'd go for Rose and go for him early. You guys know I love Ralph, but when something has gone stale, it's very, very, very hard to get it back again. I fear that it's beyond either the club or Ralph, and potentially starting the season with him puts us on the back foot. I mean, I'm not against it, but if a talent like Rose (or a proven manager like Poch) was available, I'd jump hard for it.

Which is where realism is needed too - the easiest fixes are always to sack the manager when the rot sets in. Whilst the players should shoulder the blame too for being poor for a while now, nobody will ever back a manager and get rid of 15 players to bring 15 in.

I have been thinking, and I have changed my vote from in to out.

The last few games have been a real tipping point for me. I wanted to see at least a draw or some progress and fight from the team, and I simply haven’t seen it.

I do feel there is a good coach somewhere in there, and I do like him. If we do give him money to spend i think there is a good chance he can turn it around. But everything seems rotten at the moment and we need freshening up all over the club.

If we're thinking about the long term development of our successful youth team and implementing them into the first team then Steve Cooper has to be in with a shout. His record of coaching kids successfully at international level is proven and he has made an impressive start as a club manager.

With broja ending his loan spell, and long’s contract over, we are going into next season with our strikers being arma, adams and nlundulu.

So in just under 6 months the ratio of in to out has changed from approximately 9:1 to 3:1.

Honestly it’s actually depressing. The list of utter dross in our squad is miles longer than the list of quality.

The players I 100% think are good enough and want us to keep: KWP, JWP, Perraud, Tino, stu armstrong, Romeu.

All of the rest are championship players (or below) with the occasional PL level game in them. Salisu def has potential to move up into the key player category.

Sadly Ralph has had a big hand in this squad now. Simply not good enough

He has, and most of the signings he has made have been good i.e Adams, Broja, Livramento, KWP, Perraud, Salisu. Its the leftovers from 5 years ago that need changing asap.
