Perhaps it will be the sort of form that will make the board take notice that we need new signings urgently.
I can see Ralph going. Yes the board did say he has their support, but surely they can see he has taken the club as far as he can?
Nope, i said end of season, and just everything to me points of his time here should be done. I would be changing if up to me. Over the season we haven’t been good enough, and i accept the net spend but also factor in we have some saleable assets in JWP, KWP, and Tino, but as Libs says above, the shear number of goals is horrific. His selections have always been questionable during his 3 or so years, but selections, formations, tactics etc just dont add up. I mean, he dropped AA after some bad form and the upturn of Broja months ago, then stuck with Broja during an equally horrific run of form. I mean v Liverpool, Broja looked liked he couldnt even be arsed to chase and run, and maybe he is ****ed off with Ralphs tactics, but to not try to get more out of some of this squad is on Ralph. I do think the Board will keep him though, and back him, and if so, then so be it. But a **** start to next season i will certainly be calling for his head. For me, he has <7 games to turn this **** around. Im sure many will say that isn’t sufficient, we for me it is as there is lots of bad form that needs to be considered.
I think he's earned a shot with the new owners but there has to be a shake of of the coaching staff especially defensively and we need to learn that signing older more experienced players is not a bad thing as long as they have the right character and are winners. I agree that his position will be under scrutiny if we don't get off to a decent start in August.
Yeah, and I can live with this approach, but if it is more of the same next season, i dont think we’d survive. I like the idea of older players, although we do have some of those, and kept Theo partly for this reason, so im not so sure it will make a huge difference. The coaching thing will only work I think if Ralph let’s go of some control and accepts support and ideas, we seem totally rudderless this season, except for a purple patch which if we are all honest, is the exception to the norm. Like I say, think Ralph will be in charge for Game 1 but more sure he will be by game 38…
I'd still give him next season personally to see how he goes BUT I think he might have lost the players and if that's the case then there's only one option. If he hasn't then I'd stick unless a long term target becomes available. Might be worth resetting the poll mods?
My stance hasn't really changed from last week but I'm at the point where if Sport Republic sacked him I'd just shrug and say 'fair enough'.
Yeah but lots are from non-regular posters who might not bother. Think a reset one for the end of the season would give a truer reflection? No bother if not though. Was only a suggestion.
The easiest way if people really wanted a reset IMO would be to just create a new thread and close this one.
Started today on 28 out, now at 34 Ralph's bizarre chat with Radio Solent, didn't leave me with a lot of hope.
I completely get why so many people want him gone, but as I’ve said before many, many times, there are other reasons why this season has been so disappointing AS WELL AS IT BEING RALPH’S FAULT. Sorry to shout, but I wanted to make it clear that although I back Ralph and want him to have a summer window with the new owner’s backing, I am a long way from being happy with a lot of his decisions.
I agree, I think his chat has done more harm than good. He should have taken more accountability imo. Weak to blame the ref. Yet again baffling decisions in selection and subs. I think the last few weeks have swung me from Ralph in and given money to spend to start again with a new head coach.
The worrying thing about that interview is it tallies up with the lack of urgency and laziness of some of the players. "We're doing nothing wrong and are just being unlucky so carry on as we are" Makes me wonder if he's been relaying the same message to them during this run...
